Free ‘Moana' screening under the stars in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—Are you looking for free escapism? R.W. Norton Art Gallery is hosting an outdoor screening of Moana featuring local food trucks. On May 23rd, R.W. Norton Art Gallery will host a screening on the front lawn outside the museum, 4747 Creswell Ave, Shreveport. 'Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a movie under the stars,' details R.W. Norton Art Gallery. 'BLOOM' Shreveport gallery features work from 29 states, 22 countries The event begins at 6 p.m., featuring local food trucks such as Hot Dawg Hut, Yeero-Yeero, and Larry P's Boiling Pot. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed. The movie is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., and picnics are welcome. They emphasize that the screening is a no-smoking or tobacco event. Celebrate International Women's Day with art
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — International Women's Day is a day to celebrate, highlight, and uplift women of the past and present. According to a Facebook event, R.W. Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport is hosting an International Women's Day Tour to celebrate women. The tour will highlight women artists and depictions of notable figures in women's history throughout the permanent collection. CPSO to empower women with Situational Awareness Workshop The tour will be held on Friday March 7 at 1:30 p.m. The gallery is located at 4747 Creswell Avenue in Shreveport. Local gallery showcases art from 29 states, 22 countries
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Shreveport's R.W. Norton Art Gallery is slated to showcase 'an explosion of color' from 29 states and 22 countries worldwide. R.W. Norton Art Gallery says their spring exhibit, 'BLOOM!' received over 527 submissions from across the globe, but only 53 pieces were selected for this year's display. BLOOM is open to the public to enjoy nature's vibrant beauty 'without the perils of pollen or bad weather.' The public is invited to meet the artists and be the first to view this beautiful exhibition. Krewe of Highland Parade & Bal: what you need to know The opening reception is slated for Thursday, 20 March, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Surrounding R.W. Norton Art Gallery is the 40-acre botanical garden, which features thousands of plants, native flowers, and wildlife sculptures. The garden is open from sunrise to sunset on Wednesdays and Sundays.
