Free ‘Moana' screening under the stars in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—Are you looking for free escapism? R.W. Norton Art Gallery is hosting an outdoor screening of Moana featuring local food trucks.
On May 23rd, R.W. Norton Art Gallery will host a screening on the front lawn outside the museum, 4747 Creswell Ave, Shreveport.
'Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a movie under the stars,' details R.W. Norton Art Gallery.
'BLOOM' Shreveport gallery features work from 29 states, 22 countries
The event begins at 6 p.m., featuring local food trucks such as Hot Dawg Hut, Yeero-Yeero, and Larry P's Boiling Pot. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed. The movie is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., and picnics are welcome.
They emphasize that the screening is a no-smoking or tobacco event.

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Northwestern State University's Summer Dinner Theatre will present 'I Love You to Death: A Speakeasy Mystery.' Grammy winner Chubby Carrier to talk zydeco at free event The dinner theatre shows will be in a different location this year due to the current system remodel of A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. 'This has allowed us to take a different approach to the show,' said Director Robert Richoux. 'The show will take place at The Venue on Front Street, which means there is no stage, and the cast will be in and out of the audience to make you feel even more connected and immersed in the world of the play.' 'I Love You to Death: A Speakeasy Mystery' was written by Robert J. Leblanc. 'In the play, a boxer, a gangster, a rival, a tortured vaudevillian, a woman on the prowl, and a pair of star-crossed lovers enter the Irish Lyon Social Club. Who will leave the speakeasy alive? The jazz plays, illegal liquor flows, and the bodies and suspects start piling up in this tale of crooked deals, jilted lovers, betrayal, and mayhem. Try to pin the suspect with the crime to find out who did the deed in 'I Love You to Death,'' a press release stated. This misstep is called "Peanuts 2 N Elephant." While recent Tha Carter installments have had their ups and downs, Lil Wayne teamed up with Lin-Manuel Miranda of all people for this circus-infused disaster track that features horn-blowing elephants and what sounded like discarded soundtrack music for one of the old Frogger games. Lil Wayne's cringey bars on this song already clang about without any wit or passion, and there is already nothing you can do to salvage those lyrics with that Greatest Showman Super Nintendo game beat playing in the background. We heavily blame Miranda for this, as his contributions to the genre in this decade also include that ghastly "Scuttlebutt" rap between the bird and the crab in the 2023 Little Mermaid live-action remake. Miranda's Hamilton and In the Heights remain great, of course, but what the heck is this garbage? Is this a parody? Only two great artists could put their heads together and create something this bad unintentionally. Some NSFW language and deliriously painful production value below. The song is basically this visual meme in real practice. Look, we fully expect both Lil Wayne and Miranda to rebound from what basically amounts to a terrible decision made between two very talented people who know better. One of them gave us Tha Carter III, and the other gave us the amazing songs from Moana and Encanto. We feel like they'll learn from this and move on. However, it's best that this circus leave town as soon as possible, as "Peanuts 2 N Elephant" joins the ranks of all-time "immediate album skip" songs. That jarring beat is going to haunt our nightmares for weeks to come.
