Why Lil Wayne's atrocious \
Let's get this out of the way first: Lil Wayne is one of the best rappers of his generation, responsible for some of the seminal songs and albums in the genre, period. His golden status in rap history is secure, and nothing he does for the rest of his career takes away from that. Every great artist produces a stinker from time to time.
Friday's release of Tha Carter VI featured that kind of egregious misstep that typically follows rappers who have entered the back nine of their creative output. This misstep is called "Peanuts 2 N Elephant."
While recent Tha Carter installments have had their ups and downs, Lil Wayne teamed up with Lin-Manuel Miranda of all people for this circus-infused disaster track that features horn-blowing elephants and what sounded like discarded soundtrack music for one of the old Frogger games.
Lil Wayne's cringey bars on this song already clang about without any wit or passion, and there is already nothing you can do to salvage those lyrics with that Greatest Showman Super Nintendo game beat playing in the background. We heavily blame Miranda for this, as his contributions to the genre in this decade also include that ghastly "Scuttlebutt" rap between the bird and the crab in the 2023 Little Mermaid live-action remake.
Miranda's Hamilton and In the Heights remain great, of course, but what the heck is this garbage? Is this a parody? Only two great artists could put their heads together and create something this bad unintentionally.
Some NSFW language and deliriously painful production value below.
The song is basically this visual meme in real practice.
Look, we fully expect both Lil Wayne and Miranda to rebound from what basically amounts to a terrible decision made between two very talented people who know better. One of them gave us Tha Carter III, and the other gave us the amazing songs from Moana and Encanto. We feel like they'll learn from this and move on.
However, it's best that this circus leave town as soon as possible, as "Peanuts 2 N Elephant" joins the ranks of all-time "immediate album skip" songs. That jarring beat is going to haunt our nightmares for weeks to come.

And Just Like That…: Here's What We Want to See for Each Character Before the Show Ends
Pour us another round of cosmos, because we're preparing ourselves to say goodbye to the ladies of And Just Like That. HBO Max's Sex and the City sequel series is officially ending after three seasons — which means we only have two episodes left with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and the rest of the gang. (The series finale airs Thursday, Aug. 14 at 9/8c.) And there are plenty of loose plot threads still hanging out there, so showrunner Michael Patrick King and the writers will have to work hard to come up with a pair of final episodes that will wrap everything up in a nice, chic bow. More from TVLine Sarah Jessica Parker and Her Co-Stars Offer Emotional Tributes as And Just Like That Reveals End Date And Just Like That... Shocker: Sex and the City Revival to End With Season 3 at HBO Max And Just Like That: Carrie Gets Closer to Duncan - But Is It Too Close? So we here at TVLine thought we'd do some of the heavy lifting for them. (As longtime Sex and the City fans, we feel certain we're qualified.) Below, we've laid out exactly what we need to see from each major character on And Just Like That before the curtain falls for good — and that includes the return of a few familiar faces from the past. Read on to see our wish list for And Just Like That's farewell, and then hit the comments to tell us what you want to see in the final two episodes. Carrie She already said goodbye to Aidan, so we don't have to worry about her making that mistake again. And she does have solid chemistry with her fellow writer Duncan. We're most excited, though, about her new journey as a novelist. So we'd love it if Carrie's new book became a sensation and took her to London, where she could cozy up with Duncan — and also reunite with a certain someone… Samantha Hello, fabulous! The fact that Duncan lives in London gives And Just Like That the perfect excuse to bring back fellow London resident Samantha for a much-needed reunion. It just wasn't the same without Samantha Jones around, and a Kim Cattrall cameo in the finale (however brief) would help it feel like a proper send-off — not just to this show but to Sex and the City, too. Miranda We've been liking her low-key romance with Joy so far — a lot more than her volatile hook-up with Che, anyway — and we wouldn't mind seeing those two get a happy ending. But we still have a soft spot for Steve: It'd be nice to see him and Miranda mend fences and spend some time together with Brady as a family before And Just Like That signs off for good. (And no, yelling at Brady for getting a girl pregnant doesn't count.) Charlotte Yes, we're happy her husband Harry is cancer-free, and Charlotte seems content balancing her work at the art gallery with her life at home being a mom. But mostly, we want to see Charlotte step into the spotlight a little more in the final two episodes and push for her own happiness, rather than just being a dutiful housewife or a supportive shoulder for Carrie to cry on. This woman has feelings, too! We've known that since way back in the Sex and the City days, and we'd like to see a little of that old sparkle again. Seema Seema is the most compelling new character And Just Like That gave us, so it's a shame that we have to say goodbye to her so soon. But we're enjoying the unlikely romance she's having with landscaper Adam, and we'd love to see that love, um, bloom in the final two episodes. Plus, she needs to sign a big client and get her new firm on track. Lisa Michelle Obama needs to show up and make a cameo in the final two episodes, if only to justify all the talk about her being a part of Lisa's long-gestating documentary. And no, we don't need to see Lisa have a fling with her editor Marion. She's too dedicated to her family to do anything that impulsive. Anthony He already has his happily-ever-after all sewn up with that Italian stallion Giuseppe, so we just need mom Patti LuPone's approval to seal the deal. But it would be nice to see the show acknowledge his ex (and Carrie's bestie) Stanford, played by the late Willie Garson, one more time before it signs off. Nya Hey, remember her? After two seasons as Miranda's professor pal, Nya dropped off the radar completely in Season 3, so we'd love to see her at least pop in to say hi and get some closure in the final two episodes. Che And as for seeing Miranda's regrettable ex again? Nah, we're good. Let us know what you want to see in the final two episodes with a comment below! Book Review: 'You Belong Here' speaks of the dangers of going home again
Megan Miranda treads overly familiar territory in 'You Belong Here,' the story of a woman forced to return to the town that once suspected her of involvement in a terrible crime — a plot that echoes too closely the themes of her previous novels. Twenty years ago, Beckett Bowery's college roommate lit a fire that killed two young men during a hazing ritual, and then seemingly vanished. Adalyn Vale's whereabouts remain a mystery in Wyatt Valley; a town divided between those connected to the elite college and the locals who know little about life behind its gates. Beckett embodied that divide — her parents were professors at the school, but she grew up as a local until deciding to enroll herself. After the fire, she was suspected of being an accomplice and forced to leave her home. Now, two decades later, her daughter, Delilah, enrolls at the school, drawing Beckett back into Wyatt Valley's web. Miranda is an author who always writes to her strengths, but in this book, she is sticking too close to them. Her 2016 adult debut, 'All the Missing Girls,' was a rewardingly twisty take on the genre that pulled off the story being told in reverse and provided a genuinely shocking conclusion. It also introduced Miranda's signature plot device: a woman haunted by tragedy, reluctantly returning to the scene of the crime, still the subject of small-town whispers and accusations. This book feels like a recycle of that plot, and one that fails to grasp the electric undercurrent of intense female friendship Miranda usually has a knack for. The reader never feels the magnetism of Adalyn or the emotional weight of Beckett's relationship with her, to the point where Beckett is still haunted by Adalyn's absence two decades later. More time spent in the past with their friendship and its effect on Beckett's identity might explain why Adalyn's hold remains so strong. Miranda's description of the sinister-sounding hazing tradition called 'the howling,' where co-eds are chased through the woods by their peers, adds a sense of creeping danger to both timelines of the book. However, Miranda fails to make the consequences of being caught explicit, leaving some confusion as to why Adalyn took such drastic action. If the implication is meant to be sexual violence, the story would be more powerful in addressing that and giving Adalyn's act a purpose. Miranda's ability to establish the settings of her novels as characters is present here and remains effective. Her portrayal of icy tensions in close-knit mountain towns is comparable to Shirley Jackson's grip on the eeriness of rigid New England villages. The novel also hits a peak when exploring Beckett's anxiety over her daughter's safety in Wyatt Valley, and her fear of Delilah being harmed in retribution for her own suspected guilt. The revelations in the last third of the book are rushed, hollow attempts at twists and lessen the impact of an ending that struck a genuinely poignant, tragic note. Miranda is a genuinely compelling thriller writer, but my hope is that she breaks her traditions and tries something new with the next book she writes. ___

Ariel and Moana are racing to see who swims farther. Disney is tracking them.
Hundreds of spectators gathered near Disney's Vero Beach Resort in Florida over the weekend for a very special send-off. They waited patiently as one by one, a green sea turtle named Ariel and a loggerhead turtle named Moana slowly made their way back to the ocean on July 26, after laying eggs on the beach the night before. Freshly affixed with transmitters to track their location and other data, Ariel and Moana joined the nonprofit Sea Turtle Conservancy's annual Tour de Turtles, a friendly competition to raise awareness about issues impacting these species. Over the next three months, the Disney-sponsored turtles will race against sea turtles swimming on behalf of other organizations to see who travels the furthest. Fans can follow along on the tour's website, but Disney and its partners hope the public's care for these creatures continues long-term. Where do sea turtle nest? Disney's Vero Beach Resort sits along the southern end of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, a roughly 20-mile stretch of beach that U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service describes as the 'most significant area for loggerhead sea turtle nesting in the world and the most significant area for green turtle nesting in North America.' 'If you go back several decades, these turtles were really in bad shape. Their populations were really struggling,' said Disney Conservation Director Dr. Zak Gezon. Disney has helped monitor and protect sea turtles near its Vero Beach Disney Vacation Club property since 2003. 'We've estimated that over 1.8 million sea turtle hatchlings have come out that we've been monitoring there over this time,' Gezon said. 'This year, we already have over 1,000 nests.' What are the different kinds of sea turtles? Three different sea turtles species nest near Disney's Vero Beach Resort: leatherbacks loggerheads and green sea turtles, like Crush and Squirt from 'Finding Nemo.' All of them are protected under the Endangered Species Act, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Dr. Mark Penning, vice president of Disney's Animals, Science & Environment, said turtles who come to Vero Beach likely hatched there, too. 'It's why, for us, it's important that we're not just protecting these sea turtles from hatching out and going to the sea,' he said. 'We're protecting this coastline so that those babies can come back in 30, 40, 50 years from now and lay their eggs as they need to continue the cycle.' What are the things that harm sea turtles? Humans are among the greatest threats to sea turtles, whether directly through boat strikes, fishing entanglements and harvesting meat and shells or indirectly contributing to pollution and threats to sea turtle habitats. Each Tour de Turtles competitor represents a different sea turtle cause. Ariel, who's sponsored by Disney Cruise Line, is helping raise awareness for beach erosion. Moana, who is sponsored by Disney Conservation Fund, is drawing attention to light pollution. "If you watch 'Moana,' her connection to the ocean and nature begins with her as a toddler out on the beach, helping a sea turtle get back out to the ocean,' Gezon said. 'And then as an adult ... she's a master wayfinder, navigating open oceans by looking at the stars and the moon, and she wouldn't be able to do that if there was huge amounts of light pollution.' During nesting season, Disney's Vero Beach Resort uses dimmed lighting to avoid confusing hatchlings who rely on the moonlight to guide them to the water. 'Just think if there was a light up at the hotel that looked like the moon. Then they're going to go the wrong way ... and probably not survive their journey," Penning said. Story continues below. Where do sea turtles go? Like fellow sea turtles in the wild, Tour de Turtles competitors go where they please after laying their eggs. 'Of course, the turtles don't know they're in a competition of any kind,' said Sea Turtle Conservancy Executive Director David Godfrey. 'They're just doing their thing, and we're watching them.' There are actually two different races in the tour: a leatherback race and a hard-shell race. Disney is taking part in the hard-shell race. They're broken up by category because leatherback nesting is earlier and leatherbacks travel further, by nature, so would always win. "They never really stop swimming," he said. "All the other hard-shelled species of sea turtle typically goes to a primary foraging ground, and takes up residency there." Godfrey noted it doesn't really matter who wins. "People are logging onto the Tour de Turtles website, and they're learning about these animals, and we're feeding them information about the threats they face." A Disney-sponsored sea turtle, Ebb, won last year's hard-shell race. While Gezon was proud to finally win, he said, "Being able to have a positive impact on nature and have fun and be an inspiration, that's what it's all about." How to protect sea turtles Beachgoers can help protect sea turtles by taking care of the beach, picking up litter, clearing obstacles like sandcastles that could encumber hatchlings, and not using bright lights near the shoreline at night during nesting season. For beachgoers lucky enough to see a sea turtle coming up to nest, Penning suggested staying away. "Let her do her thing and be respectful of the fact that this is a very important event for her. Let's leave her to it.' Godfrey said people who care about sea turtles can also support businesses and organizations that support these creatures. He recommended using Charity Navigator's website to find top-rated charities. 'There are small, local organizations that work with turtles. There are larger organizations. People can do their own research online and find out what groups are doing,' he said. Disney Conservation Fund has funded Sea Turtle Conservancy for 25 years and donated millions of dollars to supporting sea turtle conservation worldwide. Not just for thrills: The real-life magic Disney is working to save animals What's the best time to see sea turtles? Florida's sea turtle nesting season runs from March through October, according to Florida State Parks. Leatherback turtles nest on the early side while hard-shell sea turtles like loggerheads and green turtles nest later. Eggs hatch about two months after they're laid, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which maintains a list of public sea turtle walks and state-approved sea turtle facilities for people interesting in viewing. Penning said the Tour de Turtles is the best time to see sea turtles at Disney's Vero Beach Resort because guests can 'come up close and know you're not doing any harm.' Disney World guests can see loggerhead and green turtles all year-round at EPCOT's Seas with Nemo & Friends. Is Vero Beach close to Disney? Vero Beach is about 100 miles away from Walt Disney World, on Florida's Atlantic coast.
