'I'm still very much involved in acting,' she said. 'This new venture is about expanding my creative journey, not replacing it. 'I still have a passion for acting and want to continue. I look up to talents like Dian Sastrowardoyo, who remains active as an actress while also producing films. That's the kind of balance I aspire to achieve,' she said. > In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha, singer Nabila Razali is extending an open invitation to the people of Kelantan to attend the akikah ceremony for her son that is scheduled to take place at Franky Corner, Kota Baru, on Saturday, reported Kosmo!. Quick-thinking boy rescues siblings from house fire

Compiled by RAHIMY RAHIM and R. ARAVINTHAN A SEVEN-year-old boy has been hailed a hero for his quick-thinking action in saving his two siblings trapped inside their burning house in Taman Seri Kota, Alor Setar, reported Harian Metro. In the incident on Sunday morning, Muhammad Danial Fitri ran to a neighbour's house to seek help after his two siblings, Puteri Khaira Irdina, 4 and Muhammad Hakim Zikri, 3, were trapped upstairs. Their father Mohd Nazmi Mohd Hanifa, 30, said the children were alone at home at the time as he was out working at a mechanic shop while his wife, Siti Norziana Yusof, 23, went to a clinic. 'Danial was sleeping upstairs while his two other siblings were in the other room. 'He was awakened by the strong smell of smoke and, upon seeing flames engulfing the lower floor, quickly ran to a neighbour's house to get help. 'They then quickly contacted the Fire and Rescue Department,' Mohd Nazmi said. He said that his family had rented the place for almost 11 years. He also did part-time mechanic work at the house. 'When I got home, I was relieved to hear that my children were safe, but devastated to hear that our Proton Wira and eight of my customers' motorcycles had been destroyed,' he added. ‘Immoral' online shop sparks social concerns

Compiled by RAHIMY RAHIM, C. ARUNO and R. ARAVINTHAN THE sale of soiled women's undergarments on an online shopping platform has sparked worry about the declining social practices in Malaysia, China Press reported. A resident in Melaka alerted the daily about an online shop selling panties and pantyhose marketed as undergarments with the 'original' scent of a woman or female college student. The daily found that the shop had even uploaded photos of the supposed owners of the items, albeit with their faces blurred out. One of the reasons given for selling their underwear was to help support their studies and living expenses. Records on the shopping platform showed that there were 11 purchases of the used pantyhose. Kota Laksamana assemblyman Low Chee Leong described such a business as immoral and that it may normalise the behaviour of individuals with such fetishes. 'In the past, there have been many cases in Melaka where undergarments, being let out to dry, were stolen. 'Now, they can just buy them via online shopping. It is indeed worrisome,' he said. > Netizens are furious with a 30-year-old man who jumped over barriers at the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi'an, destroying two priceless artefacts which were over 2,000 years old, the same daily reported. 'If this continues, I'm afraid we won't get to appreciate the Terracotta Warriors anymore in the future,' someone wrote. Some of the Internet users even called for the man to be beaten up. Others, however, blamed the museum for being lax with security. During the May 30 incident, the man had pushed two of the statues, causing them to fall and break apart. Xi'an police later released a statement, saying that the man was mentally ill and had been arrested. Death trail leads to dodgy dental hospital

Compiled by RAHIMY RAHIM, C. ARUNO and R. ARAVINTHAN THE deaths of eight people in Tamil Nadu in 2023 have been traced back to a dental hospital where they underwent procedures, Makkal Osai reported. The conclusion was reached after an investigation by the directorate of public health, the Christian Medical College Vellore and the Indian Council of Medical Research. It was found that 10 people who underwent procedures at the dental hospital in Thiruppattur village developed infections. Eight of them died within 16 days of their procedures. The investigation found that the dentists had used unsanitised surgical tools to open bottles of saline solution. They had then used the same saline solution to clean the mouths of multiple patients. This had caused severe bacterial infections which affected the brains of the patients and caused serious side effects, eventually killing them. It remains unclear whether the hospital, which has since closed down, would face criminal or civil action.
