RAS Main aspirants given ultimatum to end protest at RU
Jaipur: Aspirants of the RAS Main 2024, protesting at Rajasthan University since Thursday demanding a postponement of the exam, were served an ultimatum by the university administration Monday evening to vacate the campus within an hour or face action. Protesters reported a rise in police presence on campus by late evening, indicating possible forceful removal. However, candidates remained defiant, declaring they would continue their protest. In a statement released Monday evening, the aspirants said that despite several students being on hunger strike for four consecutive days, neither the RPSC nor the state govt had taken any concrete action regarding their demands. "Due to the scorching heat and continuous fasting, the health condition of the students is becoming critical. Ambulance services were called to the hunger strike site Monday, and two more candidates were immediately admitted to the hospital," said the statement. On Sunday, the health condition of two girls on protest deteriorated, and they were shifted to SMS Hospital for treatment. Former Sainik Sangh president Captain K.L. Chaudhary reached the hunger strike site Monday, extended full support to the protest, and said that the voice of the youth who are working hard with the dream of serving the country should not go unheard. "Both the deputy chief ministers have written to the chief minister to consider our demands and work out a solution. We have received a positive response from most senior leaders of the state govt and ruling party, but still, no decision is being taken, and students continue to fall sick due to the strike," said Deepak Kaushik, one of the protesters. The RAS Mains 2024 exam is scheduled to take place on June 17-18, but aspirants have pointed out that the interviews for RAS 2023 are currently in progress, with the results pending announcement. Candidates have demanded that the Mains exam be conducted after the interview results for the previous recruitment process are announced.

2 RAS aspirants on hunger strike at RU shifted to SMS Hospital
1 2 Jaipur: The health condition of two girls on hunger strike at Rajasthan University (RU), demanding the postponment of RAS Mains exams, deteriorated and they were rushed to SMS Hospital Sunday. The RAS Mains aspirants were in protest at RU since Wednesday night, with at least six students on an indefinite hunger strike. However, due to the heat, the health of two girls deteriorated, with one of them fainting, and they were rushed to the hospital for medical assistance. "The peaceful hunger strike demanding postponement of the date of the RAS Main Exam 2024 has now turned into a serious health crisis. The candidates repeatedly appealed to chief minister and ministers to come to the protest site, talk, and end the agitation by taking a positive decision. But no concrete response has been received so far," said one of the aspirants. The RAS Mains 2024 exam is scheduled to take place on June 17-18, but aspirants pointed out that the interviews for RAS 2023 are currently in progress, with the results pending announcement. Candidates demanded that the Mains exam should be conducted after the interview results for the previous recruitment process are announced. "In the scorching 40–42-degree temperature, the students have been on hunger strike for over the past 60 hours without eating or drinking anything. The condition is continuously deteriorating. Now the question arises that if the life of any student is in danger, who will take responsibility for it?" said Deepak Kaushik, one of the protesters.
