To Promote Urban Sustainability and Improve the Environment: 'Plant & Ask' Initiative at Adly Mansour Station on the Light Rail Transit (LRT)
As part of its commitment to social responsibility and support for environmental initiatives, RATP Dev Mobility Cairo, the company responsible for operating and managing Cairo Metro Green Line 3 and the Light Rail Transit (LRT), has launched the 'Plant & Ask' initiative in collaboration with the Shagrha initiative at Adly Mansour Station on the LRT. This initiative builds on the ongoing collaboration between both parties and aims to raise environmental awareness among passengers and encourage planting and urban greenery as practical methods to combat climate change and improve air quality. The activation includes a dedicated booth inside Adly Mansour Station for three days, where experts offer practical guidance on planting and plant care for passengers. This comes alongside the monthly recognition of the most frequent users of the Light Rail Transit (LRT), by planting trees in their names. These individuals contributed to reducing harmful carbon dioxide emissions by choosing the Capital Train (Light Rail Transit), saving over 220 kilograms of harmful emissions during the month. This recognition is part of the company's efforts to encourage the use of environmentally friendly transportation and support a sustainable lifestyle that reduces environmental impact and enhances air quality within the city.
