Mahindra launches new series starting at Rs 8.94 lakh

Bengaluru, July 26 (UNI) Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India's leading SUV manufacturer, today launched the new XUV 3XO REVX series starting at Rs 8.94 lakh (ex-showroom), expanding its portfolio in the compact SUV segment. The launch comes as the XUV 3XO celebrates a significant milestone, having surpassed one lakh unit sales in under a year, making it Mahindra's fastest-selling SUV to date. Speaking to reporters at the unveiling event, Baneswar Banerjee, Vice President and National Head – Sales, Automotive Sector, said the REVX series is designed to capture specific unmet demands in the under-Rs 10 lakh compact SUV space. 'With the success of the XUV 3XO, we identified two clear opportunities—first, the sub-Rs 9 lakh category, where youth and first-time SUV buyers aspire for premium design and features. And second, at the higher end of the spectrum, where customers demand a more feature-rich, safety-packed vehicle that also reflects their lifestyle and personal expression.' The REVX M variant, priced at Rs 8.94 lakh, is powered by a 1.2L mStallion TCMPFi engine producing 82 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque. It offers full-width LED DRLs, leatherette seats, a 26.03 cm infotainment screen, and six airbags among 35 standard safety features. The REVX M(O), priced at Rs 9.44 lakh, includes all these plus a single-pane sunroof. The top-tier REVX A variant, starting at Rs 11.79 lakh, features the more powerful 1.2L TGDi engine, producing 96 kW and 230 Nm, and includes twin HD displays, a panoramic sunroof, Alexa-enabled Adrenox Connect, and wireless smartphone integration. In response to a question on why Mahindra opted to launch petrol-only versions despite historically strong demand for diesel, Banerjee explained that market trends have shifted. 'Around 62% of compact SUV sales today are petrol. CNG and electric are growing, but diesel demand has declined, except in specific zones like South and Southeast India, where diesel still contributes nearly 35–40%,' he said. 'It's not that we can't bring a diesel variant. The platform allows it, and we have the capability. But we wanted to first go after the broader market opportunity where petrol demand is dominant.' Addressing another key question on market positioning against rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Brezza, Banerjee emphasized Mahindra's differentiated approach. 'We don't comment on competitors, but our offering is a true-blue SUV, not a crossover. We have best-in-class width, segment-leading cabin space, high ground clearance, and strong approach and departure angles. From performance and safety to handling and stance, the XUV 3XO with the REVX series brings a distinct personality.' When asked about Mahindra's new branding line—'Different is in'—a senior official from the product marketing team clarified the philosophy behind it. 'Today's youth want to belong, but they also want to stand out. 'Different is in' celebrates that tension—they want to fit in with peers, yet be unique. This product is designed for that duality, offering bold design and top-end features at an accessible price point.' The brand aims to capture the imagination of younger buyers who are drawn to technology, design, and identity. Asked whether high-end features are truly usable on India's imperfect roads. In response, Banerjee highlighted Mahindra's close collaboration with Indian road standards and design parameters. 'We build our vehicles for Indian conditions, not just city roads but semi-urban and rural zones too. Ride quality, suspension tuning, and underbody protection are all tuned to ensure safety and comfort in real-world Indian driving environments,' they said. When asked about sales targets, Banerjee declined to comment on exact volume forecasts but noted that Mahindra has already invested in production capacity to support the anticipated demand. 'We talk about capacity, not numbers. We've invested in our plants to handle the scale required for sustained growth, not just for one year but for multiple cycles ahead,' he said. The XUV 3XO REVX series will be available in five color options—Galaxy Grey, Tango Red, Nebula Blue, Everest White, and Stealth Black. Mahindra expects the REVX to boost incremental volumes in both entry-level and upper-mid segments by appealing to value-conscious but style-forward consumers. With this launch, Mahindra signals a clear intent to dominate the compact SUV space by offering a product that blends performance, affordability, design, and innovation—tailored to the aspirations of the modern Indian buyer. Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 prices slashed by ₹20,000. Here's why

₹20,000. Here's why data-item-target-url=/auto/cars/ data-item-story-segment=Mass Vehicles> The Mahindra XUV 3XO lineup is categorized into two series: the MX series, comprising the MX1, MX2pro, and MX3 variants, and the AX series, offering the AX5, AX5L, AX7, and AX7L models. Check Offers In a strategic move to optimise its product lineup, Mahindra has reduced prices for the AX5 petrol variants of the XUV 3XO by ₹ 20,000. This price correction comes in the wake of the introduction of new mid-range trims—REVX M, REVX M(O), and REVX A—which now sit between the AX3 and AX5L variants. The AX5 petrol-manual variant is now priced at ₹ 10.99 lakh, while the automatic version is available at ₹ 12.49 lakh (both ex-showroom). This is a ₹ 20,000 reduction from the previous price. Interestingly, the diesel variants of the AX5 are untouched, with the prices remaining at ₹ 12.19 lakh (MT) and ₹ 12.99 lakh (AT). This revision makes the AX5 petrol manual ₹ 80,000 cheaper than the just-launched REVX A trim, so it is a good deal for price-sensitive buyers wanting a feature-packed compact SUV. Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5: Features Even though it is a mid-level variant, the XUV 3XO AX5 is very feature-rich. It receives LED headlamps, C-shaped DRLs, connected LED tail-lamps, and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Though it loses front fog lamps present on upper trims, it retains very good visual presence with a piano-black grille and aggressive bumper styling. The dashboard features a clean, layered layout with a three-spoke steering wheel and dual 10.25-inch digital displays—one for infotainment and one for the instrument cluster. Some of the notable features are a single-pane sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and a 6-speaker sound system. It lacks some of the upper features include a panoramic sunroof, and a 7-speaker Harman Kardon sound system which you can get on higher trims. Safety features on the AX5 include six airbags, ESC, rear park camera with sensors, and ISOFIX child-seat fixings. Though the higher variants feature Level 2 ADAS with advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, the AX5 still has a good safety package for its class. Mahindra expands XUV 3XO range with REVX variants

Mahindra has reinforced its presence in the competitive C-segment SUV space with the introduction of three new petrol variants under the 'REVX' nomenclature — the REVX M, REVX M(O), and the REVX A. These additions to the XUV 3XO range aim to bridge the gap between entry-level and higher-spec variants by offering a more feature-rich proposition at accessible price points. Positioning is key here. The REVX M and M(O) have been slotted between the MX2 and MX2 Pro trims, while the REVX A finds itself just below the AX5 L, effectively expanding the product band with minimal overlap. The strategy is clear: create finely-segmented options that respond to diverse buyer expectations — from value-driven essentials to performance-oriented sophistication. Powertrain options remain consistent with Mahindra's modular approach. The REVX M and M(O) are equipped with the 1.2-litre mStallion TCMPFi engine, producing 82 kW (110 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque. Tuned for smooth, linear delivery, it is well-suited for urban commutes and occasional intercity travel. The REVX A, however, makes a notable leap with the more advanced 1.2-litre mStallion TGDi powerplant, delivering 96 kW (130 bhp) and 230 Nm of torque. This engine, offered with both manual and automatic transmissions, transforms the 3XO into a far more responsive and refined vehicle — a distinction that will not go unnoticed by discerning drivers. Design and visual identity also receive meaningful upgrades. The REVX A stands apart with a distinctive body-coloured gunmetal grille, gloss-black R16 alloy wheels, a contrasting dual-tone roof, and subtle 'REVX' branding on the C-pillar — touches that lend it a premium, more individualistic character. ORVM-integrated turn indicators and Bi-LED projector headlamps further elevate both its safety credentials and road presence. Meanwhile, the REVX M and M(O) maintain visual consistency across the range. While they ride on steel wheels with black covers, both variants receive LED DRLs running across the fascia, a dual-tone roof, and the same body-coloured grille — a thoughtful approach that avoids a stripped-down aesthetic even in the lower trims. Inside, Mahindra has ensured that material quality and in-cabin technology remain competitive. The REVX A offers black leatherette upholstery, a dual-tone cabin theme, and twin 26.03 cm HD screens — one serving infotainment duties and the other as a digital driver's display. The Adrenox Connect system is standard on this trim, bringing with it a suite of connected features, including built-in Alexa, online navigation, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay — aligning the 3XO with modern user's expectations in the segment. Despite their more accessible positioning, the REVX M and M(O) are not spartan. The REVX M features leatherette seating, a touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, and a 4-speaker audio setup. A single-pane sunroof is offered on the M(O), while the A variant receives a panoramic sunroof as standard — further enhancing the sense of space and premium appeal. The base REVX M omits a sunroof entirely, but remains reasonably well-equipped. Safety continues to be a strong point across the range. All three REVX variants are fitted with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Hill Hold, and disc brakes on all four wheels — all as standard. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), however, remain the preserve of the higher AX trims, ensuring clear differentiation at the top of the hierarchy. The XUV 3XO has already demonstrated its market potential with over 1,00,000 units sold within 11 months of launch. With the introduction of the REVX variants, Mahindra is sharpening the product's appeal by introducing a more nuanced value proposition — one that caters to varied customer priorities without undermining the brand's premium aspirations. Ex-showroom pricing for the new REVX variants is — REVX M: ₹8.94 lakh, REVX M(O): ₹9.44 lakh and REVX A: Starting at ₹11.79 lakh.
