Rashtriya Indian Military College Admissions: DoE Invites Applications, Exam On December 7
Rashtriya Indian Military College Admissions 2026: The Directorate of Education has invited applications for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, for the academic year 2026. The entrance examination is scheduled for December 7, 2025 in Delhi. Students can apply by submitting the prescribed application form available here. Classes will begin in July 2026. Rashtriya Indian Military College Admissions 2026: Eligibility Criteria Students applying for admission should not be younger than 11.5 years of age and must not be older than 13 years as on July 1, 2026. They must be either studying in Class 8 or have passed it from a recognized school as on July 1, 2026. Indian Military College Admissions 2026: How To Apply For Admission? Interested students must complete the application form available online and submit it along with the required documents to the Education Cell of the Directorate of Education via post. The deadline for submission is October 15, 2025. Applicants can also request the form and a booklet of past question papers by sending a written request with a demand draft of Rs. 600 to the examination cell. For students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST), the demand draft amount is Rs. 555, and they must also attach their caste certificate. APPSC releases notifications for recruitment in Agriculture, Endowments, Groundwater departments
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued notifications for recruitment in different government departments. Applications are invited for 10 posts of Agriculture Officer in the A.P. Agriculture Service. Candidates can apply in the online mode from August 19 to September 8, 2025, up to 11 p.m., seven posts of Executive Officer in the A.P. Endowments Sub-Service for which candidates can apply from August 13 to September 2, 2025 up to 11 p.m., and four posts of Technical Assistant (Geo Physics) in the A.P. Ground Water Sub-Service, and candidates can apply from August 13 to September 2, up to 11 p.m. In a statement, APPSC Secretary P. Raja Babu said the notifications were available on the commission's website ( Group-II sports quota list The APPSC said that out of 370 candidates who were shortlisted for Group-II Services under Meritorious Sports Quota, 348 attended the certificate verification process and submitted their sports certificates, which were forwarded to the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP). The technical committee of SAAP prepared a tentative priority list/rejection list with detailed remarks. Informing that the list was available on the commission's website, Mr. Raja Babu directed the candidates to submit their grievances/objections, if any, on or before August 20, 2025 by 11 a.m. to the commission through email: appscgroup2services@ He said the grievances/objections received as on due date would only be referred to SAAP for final consideration. If no objections were received, it would be construed that the list as prepared holds good and the same would be forwarded to SAAP for onward transmission to the government-level committee for final priority list. Departmental tests The APPSC would conduct Departmental Tests pertaining to descriptive tests (Village Surveyors, Paper-V and VI) for the May-2025 session on August 24 in the offline mode at three district centres - Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Tirupati. The hall-tickets would be hosted on the commission's website from August 14. Candidates should download them on or before August 22 up to 8 p.m. due to technical reasons, said Mr. Raja Babu. RIMC admissions The commission invited applications from boys and girls for admission to Class-VIII in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for July-2026 term, to be conducted at specified centres of respective States on December 7, 2025. Mr. Raja Babu said the application forms in duplicate, along with necessary certificates, should be sent to the Assistant Secretary (Exams), AP. Public Service Commission, Opposite Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Vijayawada, on or before October 15, 2025. He said the application forms should be sent only to the APPSC and not to the RIMC, Dehradun.

In a first, landlocked Arunachal officer to command frontline naval warship
NEW DELHI: Commander Ronie Chowpoo from Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai district has become the first officer from the state to command a frontline Indian naval warship in the Eastern Fleet, an official statement said on Saturday. His appointment marks an important milestone and serves as an inspiration to the youth of Arunachal Pradesh, the Navy's statement said. Commander Chowpoo, a first-generation Naval officer, was commissioned into the executive branch of the Navy in 2008. 'A specialist in communication and electronic warfare, he has served on various frontline warships, including guided missile destroyers and frigates,' the statement said. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held key operational and staff appointments at Navy headquarters, fleet headquarters, and other strategic institutions, it added. An alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, and the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Commander Chowpoo's professional journey reflects determination and excellence. RIMC grooms youth from across the country to join the armed forces as officers. The Indian Navy has been organising outreach programmes to induct youth from across the country and Commander Chowpoo was also part of the outreach programme in the northeast. This newspaper reported earlier that a similar outreach exercise was conducted in the northeastern states in December 2022.
