Congress speaking like 'Pakistan mouthpiece': RLD MP Malook Nagar
Rashtriya Lok Dal MP Malook Nagar on Sunday criticised Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's statement on Operation Sindoor and dismissed the party as a "Pakistan mouthpiece" indulging in petty politics. "Since April 22, all the questions you've asked are the same as the questions that Pakistanis ask," Malook told IANS. "When you ask questions, it becomes breaking news in Pakistan and appears as headlines in their newspapers," he said. The RLD leader said there was no scope for doubt in the minds of Congress leaders as Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had himself confirmed facts about the Operation. "Now you have got all the answers. The Prime Minister of Pakistan has gone to various countries around the world, crying and complaining that they have destroyed our airstrips, damaged our facilities, and caused harm repeatedly..." he said. Calling upon Congress leaders to keep the nation first and avoid indulging in petty politics, he said, "The Congress should not issue wild statements just because it is losing its political ground." Nagar also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for Operation Sindoor and giving a free hand to the armed forces to hit terror hubs deep inside the enemy nation. The RLD leader's attack on the Congress follows Kharge's remarks in the wake of Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan's statement on "aircraft loss" during the recent hostilities and rejecting Pakistan's claims of downing six Indian jets as "absolutely incorrect". Kharge on Saturday had demanded that the Centre convene a special session of Parliament following General Chauhan's remarks in an interview in Singapore. The Congress leader also called for a comprehensive independent review of India's defence preparedness, akin to the Kargil Review Committee. General Chauhan had categorically dismissed Pakistan's claims in the interview, saying that the claims are "absolutely incorrect". Meanwhile, previously, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, had also stated, "Losses are a part of combat", while affirming that all Indian Air Force pilots had returned safely.

RLD state executive meeting today; expansion across UP a key agenda
1 2 Lucknow: The state executive meeting of Rashtriya Lok Dal will be held in Mathura on Tuesday, where party's top functionaries will workout the strategy to strengthen the organisation's grassroots presence in Uttar Pradesh. Sources in RLD, a key ally of BJP, said a robust membership drive and aggressive organisational expansion will be the key issues at the meeting, which will be addressed by party chief and Union minister Jayant Chaudhary . Jayant, who holds the portfolio of skill development, seeks to shore up support among youth. Engaging with farmers and marginalised sections of society will also figure on the agenda. Discussions will also touch upon the political roadmap for next year's panchayat elections and the subsequent state elections due in 2027. A senior RLD functionary said that augmenting its base among Muslims and strengthening the party structure in east UP will be the underlying motto of the meeting. In fact, RLD's focus on Muslims has been attaining prominence post the Waqf Amendment Act, which stoked rumblings among the Muslim cadres within the party. RLD state general secretary of the minority wing, Aatir Rizvi, said the party has been depicting the Waqf Amendment Act as being "favourable" to the community and functionaries have been asked to reach out to the minority community and explain the Act in the "correct perspective". by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Amid changed political dynamics post-2024 Lok Sabha elections, which saw emergence of the Samajwadi Party and its ally Congress, the BJP and its allies have been looking to recalibrate their strategies. RLD, which has a sound base in the west UP region, has started looking to tap the eastern part of the state. The efforts could help the party to have a broader social coalition. Sources said RLD national general secretary (organisation) Trilok Tyagi and national secretary Anupam Mishra are scheduled to camp in Basti on June 1 to step up the organisational spadework in east UP. The party plans to send its key organisational leaders to Ballia and Sonebhadra in the next few days. In addition to expanding the organisational network, the party leadership is expected to deliberate on appointing dedicated functionaries specifically tasked with overseeing activities in Purvanchal districts. These functionaries will be responsible for setting up block and village-level committees, identifying local issues, and preparing the ground for future electoral battles.

"NDA govt touched this target in 2025...": RLD leader Malook Nagar in India becoming 4th largest economy
New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Malook Nagar on Sunday congratulated the NDA government on India becoming the world's fourth-largest economy. He noted that this achievement is historic and a testament to the government's economic policies. The RLD leader mentioned that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had projected India to reach this stage by 2040. However, under the NDA government's leadership, India has achieved this milestone ahead of schedule, in 2025. 'This month has been historic in both matters - country's financial power and combatting terrorism... While former PM Manmohan Singh stated 2040 in the Parliament for this stage, NDA government touched this target in 2025...,' he said. NITI Aayog CEO, BVR Subrahmanyam, announced that India has become the world's fourth-largest economy, surpassing Japan, based on data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). According to the IMF's April edition of the World Economic Outlook report, the nominal GDP for fiscal 2026 is expected to reach around USD 4,187.017 billion. This is marginally more than the likely GDP of Japan, which is estimated at USD 4,186.431 billion. Nagar also highlighted that the month has been significant in combating terrorism. He praised the government's efforts to project India's national consensus and firm stance on combating terrorism in all its forms. He said that misdeeds of Pakistan would be exposed in front of European countries and Pakistan would be left nowhere. Malook Nagar said, 'Today group of parliamentarians going abroad are set to visit very important countries. UK and European Union together in itself is a superpower, and every place including US has its origin from there. People of Pakistan live in the UK. People from our country live in huge numbers. An opinion will be built, and all the misdeeds of Pakistan will be exposed. People of entire world will come to know about this and Pakistan will be left nowhere. Pakistan will break into several parts. Pakistan will face famine, and India will emerge will rise swiftly.' He further said that it has been cleared in front of the world that if innocent Indians would be target of a terror attack then India would hit going inside their house. Earlier Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, who is a part of a multi-party delegation to European countries, on Sunday called for global accountability and a global alliance against terrorism while highlighting Pakistan's involvement in terror activities. Speaking with ANI, Priyanka Chaturvedi said, 'There should be a zero tolerance against terrorism and there should also be global accountability and a global alliance against terrorism.' Slamming Pakistan for being involved in the terror attack, she highlighted that terrorist groups like Al Qaida and Jaish-e-Mohammad originated from the country. 'All roots of terrorism are coming from Pakistan. Pakistan has become a global terror hub. It exports terrorists not just in our country but also in other countries. America or Europe should not forget that Al Qaida, Jaish-e-Mohammad and other terror groups are found there (Pakistan),' she said. 'Those who are empowering Pakistan financially should see where the money is being used... It is time for the entire world to be aware and call Pakistan out for what it is,' she said. Chaturvedi is part of the delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, which will visit the UK, France, Germany, the EU, Italy and Denmark. Other members of the delegation include Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Ghulam Ali Khatana, Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), M J Akbar, and Ambassador Pankaj Saran. (ANI)

‘Opposition is welcome but no room for insult'
Lucknow: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) national general secretary Anil Dubey on Sunday attacked the Samajwadi Party for objectionable remarks against deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak . "Politics runs on dialogue, not abuse. Opposition is welcome, but insult is not," he said, asking the SP functionaries to exercise restraint in their criticism. Attacking the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for questioning the govt over the role of the United States in ceasefire in Operation Sindoor , he said it was an "insult to India's military might". "The armed forces have proved their strength globally, and this is the time to honour their courage, not undermine it. This is not the time to raise doubts about our army's capabilities," Dubey said. He was in Sultanpur to expand the party's organisational base. Hundreds of students, youth, farmers, and women joined the RLD under Gyan Prakash Pandey. He said RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary joined the NDA to ensure the interests of farmers and youth were addressed. "As skill development minister, he is holding job fairs across the country to provide employment to youth. Farmers, too, are receiving better prices for their produce," he said.

RLD eyes org scale-up to expand base, sign in new members
1 2 Lucknow: The Jayant Chaudhary-led Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), a constituent of the BJP-led NDA , is poised to chart its strategic course for the upcoming elections — specifically the forthcoming panchayat polls and the 2027 UP assembly elections — at the state executive meeting scheduled to be convened in Mathura later this month. RLD sources said that the meeting would see the party passing its political resolution, which would specifically underline its roadmap for the upcoming electoral battles in UP and beyond. Confirming the development, RLD national secretary Anupam Mishra said that the meeting would lay the groundwork for the augmentation of the organisational apparatus. "The final modalities of the meeting are being worked out," he said. Sources said that the party plans to hold the meeting on May 26. The meeting, he said, will be attended by all national and state office bearers who would give their suggestions and feedback regarding emerging poll scenarios and resulting strategies. With next year's rural local body elections in UP and subsequently the 2027 assembly elections on the horizon, the meeting signals RLD's focus on grassroots mobilisation and alliance recalibration, analysts said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like People Aged 50-85 With No Life Insurance Could Get This Reassured Get Quote Undo Organisational expansion and an enhanced membership drive are expected to be the central theme of the state executive meeting. This would essentially focus on expanding RLD's influence from its traditional west UP region to east UP. Mishra said that the party was working to expand its base to some of the key east UP districts in the recent past. The party is also expected to discuss strategies for expansion in other states, including poll-bound Bihar. Sources said that the party intends to broaden its grassroots presence by bringing in new members. This would be done by intensifying its outreach to youth, farmers and rural voters, which happen to be electorally important for any political outfit. Alongside membership growth, the party plans to restructure its internal organisation — possibly appointing new office-bearers at district and block levels to improve local-level coordination, sources said. The move is expected to decentralise decision-making, empower local leadership and ensure more effective outreach in rural and semi-urban constituencies. Experts said that RLD's focus on independent organisational strength signals a desire to retain its identity while leveraging the alliance for broader electoral gains even as it remains part of the NDA. "A stronger organisational framework will not only prepare the party for the upcoming panchayat elections but also lay the groundwork for a credible performance in the 2027 UP assembly elections," said a senior RLD functionary.
