Its director Wan Jamal Abdul Salam Wan Long said they conducted the raid at 10.30am on May 7 and found the cigarettes in the house and in the boot of a car. He said the rented premises was used to store the contraband cigarettes, which they distributed to customers using the vehicle. "The total value of the seized cigarettes is RM1.48mil, including tax. The case is being investigated under Section 135(1)(e) and Section 135(1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967. "Customs urges the public to help combat smuggling by providing information regarding any smuggling activities," he said in a statement on Sunday (June 1). – Bernama
