Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said authorities intercepted a bonded lorry at the Putrajaya toll of the Maju Expressway (MEX) in Cyberjaya that day. He said the operation, carried out about 2.30pm, involved policemen from Bukit Aman's Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Intelligence Investigation and the Sepang police Criminal Investigation Department. Other items seized included the lorry, its ignition key, two mobile phones and four delivery order documents. Shazeli said checks revealed that both suspects have prior criminal and drug abuse records. On Aug 7, both men were charged at the Sepang magistrate's court under the same section. Shazeli reminded the public not to get involved in any smuggling or sale of illicit cigarettes, adding that stern action will be taken against offenders.
