Although revenue declined 22 per cent year on year (YoY) to RM1.5 billion (~$351 million) primarily due to reduced sales volume the Group showed operational resilience, LCT said in a release. The Group also posted a 38.3 per cent YoY reduction in LBITDA, down to RM37.7 million (~$8.8 million). President & CEO Jang Seon Pyo acknowledged the tough global landscape, shaped by geopolitical tensions and continued oversupply of petrochemical products, particularly in China. Husband and wife nabbed over suspected drug trafficking

ALOR STAR: Police have arrested a married couple during a police raid at a house here on Monday for suspected involvement in drug trafficking. Kota Setar Police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti Nor Salawati Saad said the 3pm raid led to the seizure of 10,340 Eramin 5 pills, weighing approximately 2.85kg. Police also found a plastic packet containing what is believed to be ketamine, weighing 483 grams, as well as 364.2 grams of ecstasy. "The couple, both in their 50s, were believed to be distributing drugs to smaller peddlers in the surrounding area. The ecstasy are often used at private parties or entertainment centres. "They are typically mixed with flavoured drinks such as blackcurrant, apple, or lychee juice. Once consumed, a urine test would return positive for methamphetamine," she told a press conference at the district police headquarters today. Salawati said the suspects' operation involved pre-arranged pick-up locations, where buyers would collect the drugs. The male suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and ketamine and has five prior records for various drug offences, including under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. "However, his wife has no prior criminal record. The total value of drugs seized is estimated at RM189,642.43, police also seized RM530 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales," she said. Salawati said the amount could have potentially supplied up to 3,200 drug users in the district. "We are still investigating the source of the drugs, which we believe originated from outside Kedah. "We believe the male suspect has been active in drug distribution for about four years. He does not hold a steady job and his primary source of income appears to be from drug dealing," she said. The couple has been remanded for seven days from yesterday until May 5 to assist investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
