Topmix posts higher 2Q earnings

Topmix Bhd managing director Teo Quek Siang PETALING JAYA: Topmix Bhd posted a higher net profit of RM4mil for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 compared to RM2.66mil registered in the same quarter a year ago. Subsequently, revenue rose to RM25.42mil compared to RM21.65mil a year earlier. In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the decorative surface product provider said the increase was driven by higher sales volume for its high-pressure laminate products, contributing RM22.89mil of total revenue. Revenue of other decorative surface products also increased, while its newly launched Melamine Faced Chipboard products were well accepted by the market. The group said it will continue focusing on its business plans and strategies, and is well-positioned to tap on the anticipated growth in the decorative surface products industry. 'The decorative surface industry is expected to continue growing, supported by anticipated robust household spending, strong employment conditions, wage growth, and ongoing supportive government policies. 'Initiatives such as the upward revision of the minimum wage and salary adjustments for civil servants are expected to fuel consumer expenditure.' Topmix managing director Teo Quek Siang said, 'We are delighted to deliver an earnings growth of almost 90% for the first half of the year. This stellar result is a testament to Topmix's market leadership and competitive strengths, coupled with the newly introduced innovative MFC products, which no doubt made a promising debut as we steadily penetrate this segment.' He noted that the group has seen a gradual increase in its pretax profit margin from the low teens since early 2024, driven by stronger sales, particularly for HPL products, which remain in high demand amid sustained renovation activities. 'This second quarter's (pretax profit) margin of over 22% is in fact the highest since Topmix was listed,' he said.
