irupati: Kadapa TDP legislator R Madhavi Reddy walked out of the Independence Day parade and celebrations over protocol lapses at the police parade grounds in Kadapa on Friday.
When the MLA, along with her husband, TDP district president R Sreenivasulu Reddy, reached the venue, she found that no official seating arrangements were made for her near the podium.
After being forced to stand for a long time, Madhavi Reddy expressed her displeasure with Kadapa district joint collector Aditi Singh and left the venue. The MLA said she will complain about the issue to the assembly speaker and the assembly privileges committee. Stating that she had no hard feelings against anyone, the govt whip, however, insisted that her seat deserved some respect.
Madhavi Reddy hit the headlines twice in the past on similar grounds, when she was allegedly denied a chair in the Kadapa municipal corporation meeting, where she stood next to the YSRCP mayor's chair throughout the entire proceedings.
