Ritholtz Wealth Management Announces Grand Opening of New Chicago Office at Iconic Salt Shed Venue
New location reflects firm's growth, continues mission to build authentic client relationships without barriers NEW YORK, May 27, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ritholtz Wealth Management ("RWM"), a national RIA overseeing more than $5 billion in assets for high-net-worth clients and institutions, is proud to announce the opening of its new Chicago office. Located at The Salt Shed, a multi-purpose creative hub alongside the riverfront in the heart of the city's Salt District, the new location captures the intersection of finance, culture and community — hallmarks of both Chicago and the firm itself. The new office marks an important chapter in RWM's continued growth, as well as its ongoing mission to bring thoughtful, high-impact financial advice to clients across the country. The Salt Shed, a former warehouse reimagined by 16 on Center as one of Chicago's premier cultural venues, provides a unique setting for RWM. Surrounded by neighbors like Goose Island Brewery and steeped in the city's music scene, it reinforces the spirit of innovation and community that defines the firm. "This office is a statement about who we are and how we serve our clients," said Josh Brown, CEO at Ritholtz Wealth Management. "This isn't a bank branch. It's a space that feels like Chicago — creative, raw, real. We're building a wealth management firm that defies the conventions of this industry. We're a brand that's of the people and for the people, no matter where we go. Our space in this world-class city had to reflect that and I think we nailed it." The office was designed by artist and designer Laura Novy, wife of one of RWM's most senior Chicago-based employees. The office opening represents a huge milestone for RWM and its senior people in Chicago: Anna Chaiken, Colleen Parker, Jonathan Novy and Brian Rosen, who first opened an office in the city in 2018. The space itself is traditional industrial with brick walls, wood floors and exposed ductwork. RWM was committed to maintaining the space's vintage, industrial feel and even some of the original features. A great deal of the furniture and artwork, including a vintage Herman Miller sofa and a Mies van der Rohe coffee table, were sourced by Salvage Haus, one of Chicago's premier vintage industrial design shops. All of the artwork comes from local artists and galleries. The new Chicago location already hosts 13 full-time employees, with plans to expand in the near future. As RWM's second headquarters, the office will play a key role in client service, team growth and ongoing community engagement across the Midwest. "We wanted our office to represent what is unique and special about RWM, and be authentically Chicago at the same time," said Novy. "It has to be a place where employees are excited to work, prospects and clients want to come visit, and that allows us to continue providing the best possible service and outcomes for our clients." The firm will further cement its connection to Chicago on Tuesday, June 3rd with a live taping of The Compound and Friends, the popular business and investing podcast hosted by Brown and managing partner Michael Batnick. The special live episode, taking place at the Chop Shop in the city's Wicker Park neighborhood, will feature a conversation with Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Chicago-headquartered financial services giant Morningstar. Exhibit A Launches, Helping Advisors Enhance Client Engagement With Impactful Visuals
Today marks the official launch of Exhibit A, a platform designed to improve client engagement and decision-making via visually compelling charts and accompanying context. Conceptualized and launched through executives from Ritholtz Wealth Management (RWM), a registered investment advisor (RIA) managing over $5 billion in assets for high-net-worth clients and institutions, Exhibit A extends RWM's expertise to other RIAs and financial advisors, aimed at fostering deeper client relationships. For years, RWM has used charts and visual storytelling to explain market trends and financial concepts across its widely read blogs, hit podcasts and social media platforms. Now, advisors can leverage that same approach to engage their own clients more effectively. Exhibit A helps them explain complex financial concepts and data sets clearly, making it easier to engage clients and build trust. Building on RWM's reputation for clear, no-nonsense financial commentary and data-driven insights, the platform launches with over 100 of wealth management's most premiere charts and 10 pre-built deck templates, which are updated daily, helping advisors turn raw data into clear, compelling insights. The platform also allows for full customization, enabling advisors to brand content with their logos, color schemes and required disclosures for a polished, professional look. 'If you follow us, you've probably heard us talk plenty about 'Chart Kid' Matt Cerminaro – and that's because we know the power of great storytelling,' said Michael Batnick, CFA®, CEO of Exhibit A and managing partner and director of research at RWM. 'Markets are noisy, and data without context is relatively useless. Exhibit A helps advisors cut through the noise, focus on what actually matters and deliver insights their clients will actually remember.' Exhibit A turns historical and real-time market data into uniquely engaging charts and graphs that illustrate investing principles, investment performance and risk exposure at a glance. Clear visualizations highlight key takeaways such as investment growth, asset allocation and economic impacts, making it easier for advisors to connect with clients and drive them toward smarter financial decisions. Feedback from early adopters has been overwhelmingly positive, with beta users praising Exhibit A's ability to illustrate and communicate complex financial topics in visual formats that resonate with investors. Exhibit A's founders include Batnick, Matt Cerminaro as chief product officer, Eric Diviney as chief technology officer and Aram Festekjian as chief design officer. The platform's key features include: Pre-built decks covering market volatility, U.S. market performance, historical bull and bear markets, and earnings trends. Customizable client presentations with key talking points, historical context and educational insights. Versatile content for client meetings, blogs, social media, in-person events and presentations. 'Through our work at Ritholtz Wealth Management, we've seen firsthand how the right chart, presented the right way, can turn a confusing market narrative into a moment of clarity for clients,' said Cerminaro. 'Exhibit A is about taking what we've learned and putting it in the hands of advisors everywhere. We believe every financial professional should have access to that same advantage— while allowing their brand to shine via charts customized to their firm's color scheme, logos and disclosures.' Batnick added: 'The way advisors communicate is just as important as what they communicate. Every great advisor knows that their job isn't just about managing portfolios. It's about managing expectations, emotions and big-picture decisions. Exhibit A helps make those conversations easier by turning complex data into something clients can actually understand and act on.' Exhibit A is available for $299 per seat, per month, with firmwide and enterprise pricing options also available. Advisors interested in learning more can visit or find Batnick and Cerminaro on stage at Future Proof Citywide on Monday, March 17th. Exhibit A helps financial advisors cut through market noise and communicate more clearly with their clients. The platform offers a growing library of data-driven charts and ready-to-use presentations, helping advisors turn complex financial topics into simple, impactful insights. Built by the team behind Ritholtz Wealth Management's visual storytelling, Exhibit A exists to make client conversations more effective.
