Bipasha Basu on Balancing Motherhood and Acting: A Path to Making Devi Proud

, once a fixture on the silver screen, has spent the past few years in the comforting shadows of a more personal spotlight — motherhood. While many actors often stay in the public eye through interviews and podcasts, even without current work, the Raaz actress prefers to keep her voice measured and meaningful. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "I think I should do interviews when I have content to talk about. I'm very clear about that. I don't want to make noise just like that. It's a simple life right now," she tells us. 'I worked so hard that today I can take that decision of stepping back and be with my baby' Bipasha's last full-fledged cinematic outing was in 2015's Alone , and since then she has kept a deliberate low profile. Talking about her much-deserving sabbatical, she says, "I have worked from the age of 15, so I needed a break. When I got married, I definitely consciously stepped back. I wanted to enjoy the perks of all that I had worked hard for. Then the three years went by so fast - being in love and settling down, it was great. I don't regret any of it. Then the decision of wanting to become a mother - that was a little difficult on me. I had to take some strong decisions, and it took me some time to do that. I had a baby and now I don't want to miss out on any time with my baby. Itni mehnat se bacha bada kiya hai. It's as simple as that. And I'm grateful that I can do that. I worked so hard that today I can take that decision of stepping back and be with my baby and it's going to be fine." 'There are newer ways the world is looking at women, it's not stereotypical' Despite the absence from the screen, the passion never dimmed. Ask her if she misses facing the camera, and she doesn't skip a beat: "I do miss it. I love acting. I used to do it 365 days a year. I've done it for 20 years. So, I do miss it. And it's (return to acting) going to happen soon. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now I'm not worried about that because now it's looking good for women. There are more opportunities, there are more platforms. There are newer ways the world is looking at women, it's not stereotypical. I have tried to always do something different, right from the time I began, I went against the tide always. And it's always worked for me. So, I do believe that you have to live your life. The work and your life have to kind of be in balance. Mine is not right now. It's my baby, my baby, my baby. But it is going to come. I think it is the right time. I will do it." 'I want to make my daughter proud' While she's open to diving back into the professional pool, Bipasha is in no rush to sign on the dotted line. She has "no idea" what she is looking for. "I have no idea. I'm all open. I've always been a very open person. So just bring it on. When I'm ready, bring it on. And I will choose and do so. I feel like if I have to commit, then will I have time, otherwise I'm going to keep pushing this. Acting is something that I love, so. And I need my child to see who I am, apart from being a mum. Now she's becoming more intelligent and sharper. She always is curious - 'Why are people taking Mama's pictures at airports?'. She frowns. She doesn't understand it, right now. But I want to make her proud and I want to do some substantial work which will make her proud as she's growing up," she admits. 'Devi is a fashionista, and I am her stylist' As for her time at home, Bipasha, who recently walked as a showstopper for Max's vibrant Lilo & Stitch collection, has found joy in the simplest of roles—being her daughter's full-time fashion guide. Devi, who is three, is a "fashionista" Bipasha reveals. "My baby is a fashionista. And I am her stylist. She likes to dress up, very unlike me. I don't like to dress up in my normal time. She's taken after the father (actor, ). She likes to dress up every day. She likes to go and see herself as soon as she gets ready. There are times when she's telling me, 'Mama, you didn't put lipstick', to which I reply, 'Just keep quiet. I'm going to go out without lipstick. I'm not going to get ready'. That little one is becoming a fashionista because the stylist is excellent. I take all the credit. Everyone asked me, how does she tie her hair so much? She's so small, but she loves it. And she sits very patiently. And five minutes, her hairstyles are done," she concludes.

‘People ripped off my denim jacket after Musu Musu Haasi', recalls Dino Morea: ‘Bigger stars suddenly contacted me, people were going nuts'

Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi marked many firsts when it released in 1999. The musical romantic drama, directed by late Raj Kaushal, marked the debut of actors Dino Morea, Sanjay Suri and Twinkle Khanna's sister Rinke Khanna. It was also the debut of playback singer Shaan and beginning of the iconic music duo Vishal and Shekhar. While the film couldn't make a mark in its audience mind, the song'Musu Musu Haasi Deu' shot Dino Morea to fame, making him the heartthrob of Bollywood. His fandom was such that when he once went for the promotion of a film, his fans ripped off his denim jacket in excitement. In a recent interview with Just Too Filmy, Dino Morea recalled the time when they launched the film and the kind of craze it created among the audience. He said, 'That release and the kind of adulation we got at that time was phenomenal. I remember going doing a premiere in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. I didn't expect people to show up the way they showed up.' 'I remember, I walked out of the cinema in Kolkata and people ripped my jacket. It was a denim jacket. People were going nuts. It was more so because of the song Musu Musu Haasi. People loved it. Delhi was insane, Bangalore too because it is my hometown. I was in shock. I understood the reach of cinema.' Dino Morea shared how this love and craze was all organic and real as no PR existed back then. We were covered so much for being in a relationship. It was all organic. There was no PR at that time, we didn't do PR, it was pyaar. We didn't call photographers to come and stand and wait and take a picture. None of that happened. It was just organic. It was not set up. That was the beauty of it.' While the song 'Musu Musu Haasi' made Dino Morea the heartthrob of Bollywood, it was his the 2002 film Raaz that helped him make his mark in the industry. He shared, 'Raaz cemented my foothold in the film industry. People would say, 'okay, that's a huge success. It's kind of arrived.' That gave me a lot of confidence. Raaz brought respect to horror films because before that there was nothing good in terms of horror. Raaz was primarily a love story which resonated with people around the world. That movie set me up in the industry. Suddenly the bigger stars started to congratulate me. I could see the difference.' Dino Morea recently featured in the Netflix series The Royals starring Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Nora Fatehi and Zeenat Aman, among others.

'Can't stay in same room with my husband...' This actress once ruled Bollywood, then vanished for 8 years, now making an alleged comeback, her name is.. Born in Kolkata and raised in Delhi, Bipasha Basu was a well-known model before beginning her acting career. Vinod Khanna wanted to cast her opposite his son Akshaye Khanna in his 1997 Bollywood debut Himalay Putra , but she declined the role thinking that she was too young at the time. Moreover, Jaya Bachchan wanted her to play lead role in her son Abhishek Bachchan's first movie, Aakhri Mughal , but it was cancelled due to unknown reasons. Bipasha finally made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kareena Kapoor in Ajnabee (2011) . She garnered recognition for portraying negative character Sonia in the suspense thriller. Following her debut, Bipasha starred in several successful films, including Raaz, Jism, No Entry, Omkara, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Race, and Aakrosh. The actor, once known as the Bong Beauty, spent three years on the '50s Most Desirable Women' list. Throughout her career, Bipasha collaborated with several celebrities, and became one of the top leading actresses in 2000s. In 2016, Bipasha tied the knot with actor Karan Singh Grover, with whom she first met on the set of their 2015 film Alone . Six years later, the couple welcomed their baby girl Devi. Since 8 years, the actress has been away from the films and has been living her marital life and motherhood to the fullest. Bipasha's last theatrical project was the 2018 film Welcome To New York, where she had a cameo appearance. Bipasha and Karan, who are happily married for 8 years, once surprisingly refused to share a room during the shoot of their web series Dangerous. This revelation was made by singer and producer Mika Singh, who called his experience 'horrible' when filming with the couple. Speaking on the KADAK YouTube channel, Mika revealed how the experience was terrible, stating, 'I took a team of 50 to London for a month-long schedule. However, it was extended to two months. Karan and Bipasha created a lot of drama. They were a married couple, so I booked a single room for them. But, they were like, 'No, we need our separate rooms.' I didn't understand the logic. They then demanded to move to a different hotel. We did that as well.' After a long break from the silver screen, Bipasha Basu has finally spoken about her possible return to Bollywood. In an exclusive chat with Zoom, Bipasha revealed that she truly misses being a part of films. When asked about a possible comeback, she playfully responded, 'When you get to see me, you will know. I will be out there giving all the interviews that you guys have been asking me for.'.
