‘It's The Right Time:' Bipasha Basu Confirms Her Acting Comeback

Last Updated: Bipasha Basu opened up about her acting comeback, revealing that she isn't worried about it. Bipasha Basu is all set to return to the world of acting after a hiatus since 2015's horror drama Alone. As a devoted mother, Bipasha prioritises her time with daughter Devi and wants to make her proud with meaningful projects. In a recent interview, the Race 2 actress revealed how she desires to explore new opportunities, striking a balance between her passion for acting and family commitments. 'I have worked from the age of 15, so I needed a break. When I got married, I definitely consciously stepped back. I wanted to enjoy the perks of all that I had worked hard for. Then the three years went by so fast – being in love and settling down, it was great. I don't regret any of it." Bipasha stated in an interview with ETimes. Reflecting her motherhood journey, Bipasha revealed, 'The decision of wanting to become a mother – that was a little difficult for me. I had to make some strong decisions, and it took me some time to do that. I had a baby, and now I don't want to miss out on any time with my baby. Itni mehnat se bacha bada kiya hai. It's as simple as that." The actress, 46, was asked if she misses facing the camera, to which she replied, 'I do miss it. I love acting. I used to do it 365 days a year. I've done it for 20 years. So, I do miss it. And it's (return to acting) going to happen soon." Bipasha stated that she is not worried about her comeback as different types of roles are now being written for women. 'I'm not worried, that's because now it's looking good for women. There are more opportunities, there are more platforms. There are newer ways the world is looking at women, it's not stereotypical," she added. The Dhoom 2 actress revealed that she has always tried to do something different, right from the time she began her career. 'I went against the tide always. And it's always worked for me. So, I do believe that you have to live your life. The work and your life have to kind of be in balance. Mine is not right now. It's my baby, my baby, my baby. But it is going to come. I think it is the right time. I will do it," she explained. Bipasha Basu wants to make her daughter Devi proud with meaningful work. She also shared an adorable insight about Devi's curiosity when people take photos with her mom, showcasing a sweet glimpse into their mother-daughter bond. First Published:

Paresh Rawal quitting 'Hera Pheri 3' takes us back to the time when Deepika Padukone walked out of 'Race 2' and producer Ramesh Taurani sued her: 'Unethical, unprofessional behaviour'

Paresh Rawal announced his exit from 'Hera Pheri 3' which left the film in trouble. This came as a huge shock to Akshay Kumar , Suniel Shetty and director Priyadarshan. Akshay's production house has bought the rights of the film, thus, a lawsuit was filed against Paresh for his sudden exit after taking a signing amount of Rs 11 lakh and agreeing to be a part of the film. While this matter is still subjudice, Rawal's legal team has said in response to allegations made by the legal team of Akshay's production house, "They did not deliver the story, screenplay and also a draft of a long form agreement which was fundamental to the engagement of our client." This whole dispute takes us back to the time when Deepika Padukone had walked out of 'Race 2' after signing the contract and left the film after shooting for six days. Producer Ramesh Taurani had filed a lawsuit against the actress. Taurani had said that time in 2012, that Deepika's behaviour was 'unethical, unprofessional and unacceptable' He had also filed a lawsuit against the star as she left his film after signing the contract and after the shoot began. He had also stated that this is also unfair to the other actors in the film. He had said in an interview with Mumbai Mirror in 2012, "On that day, people kept calling me asking whether Deepika was out of Race 2. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! At around 3 pm, she called to say that she wouldn't be able to keep the appointment. However, her manager would be present on her behalf. Finally, when the manager arrived, he simply told me that Deepika wouldn't be able to do our film. And that's because she is doing a major Hollywood project. Now imagine!" Taurani had said, "I have been a part of the Hindi cinema industry for 25 years. I have made several blockbusters. I have worked with famous actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan and Kareena Kapoor. But I have never faced a situation like this before.' In an interview with The Times of India, the producer said further, 'I had no choice but to file a complaint against her in the AMPTPP and CINTAA. I am deeply saddened by this unprofessional behaviour.' A close friend of Deepika had shared a statement with Mumbai Mirror and reacted to Taurani saying, "Constant delays are the reason Deepika can't do Race 2. When the first delay happened, she adjusted her dates and shot for two days. But then again, she was informed that the dates were being changed. She would have liked to do the film but she couldn't accommodate the new set of dates. She has conveyed her apologies to Ramesh Taurani. She had liked the script but unfortunately is not able to juggle her dates any longer.' Eventually, while Taurani filed a complaint against the actress, she had no choice but to be a part of 'Race 2'. However, recently, when ETimes got in touch with Taurani to get a comment on this 'Hera Pheri 3' dispute, reminding him of this issue with Deepika, he refused to get into the past. He shared that all's well that ends well and now he shares a good rapport with the actress. They have nothing against each other. He just commented on 'Hera Pheri 3' dispute and told us, "All I want to say is that, mainly when the artist signs the agreement, takes the signing amount and commits his dates and everything, I think he shouldn't go back off, that's not is not ethical. Whatever the reason may be, but it shouldn't be done." Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . 'Hera Pheri 3' dispute: 'Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal could have just sat across the table and sorted it,' say industry insiders as they react to the issue

The entire industry went into a state of shock as announced his sudden exit from 'Hera Pheri 3' just when finally, everything was on track. The film has not seen the light of the day since so many years and when finally now, bought the rights from producer Feroz Nadiadwala and Priyadarshan on board to direct it, Paresh Rawal backed out. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Just as the actor announced his exit from the film, it was reported that Akshay's production house filed a lawsuit against the actor. The legal team of his production house told Times Of India, "Mr Rawal had publicly acknowledged his participation in the film on 30th January 2025 via a post on his official (formerly Twitter) handle. He further formalised his commitment by executing a Term Sheet dated 27th March 2025, pursuant to which he accepted a part payment of Rs 11,00,000/- towards his remuneration. Acting in complete reliance on his public endorsement and contractual commitment, Cape of Good Films incurred substantial production and promotional expenditures, including those for the teaser and initial film shoot, in which Mr Rawal actively participated. " This of course leads to a larger perspective and conversation about the future prospects of the film considering the fact that fans cannot think of anyone else except for Rawal to play Baburao! As fans hope that Rawal joins the film again, here's what industry insiders have to say. Deja Vu moment In 2012, had walked out of 'Race 2' which was produced by Ramesh Taurani after the shoot had begun. The actress had walked out of the project after shooting for 5-6 days and it came as a huge shock to everyone. Taurani had said that time in 2012, that Deepika's behaviour was 'unethical, unprofessional and unacceptable' He had also filed a lawsuit against the star as she left his film after signing the contract and after the shoot began. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now He had also stated that this is also unfair to the other actors in the film. He had said that time, "On that day, people kept calling me asking whether Deepika was out of Race 2. I was clueless. I called her and asked her. She simply said that she would come to my office by 5 pm with her new manager to work out everything. At around 3 pm, she called to say that she wouldn't be able to keep the appointment. However, her manager would be present on her behalf. Finally, when the manager arrived, he simply told me that Deepika wouldn't be able to do our film. And that's because she is doing a major Hollywood project. Now imagine!" However, now, with the fresh 'Hera Pheri 3' issue as Paresh Rawal backed out of the project, as ETimes contact Ramesh Taurani, he refused to talk about what had happened in the past with Deepika. Infact, the producer said that there is no point of talking about what happened in the past as eventually the film got made, Deepika resumed 'Race 2' and all is now well between the actor and producer. The producer only commented, "All I want to say is that, mainly when the artist signs the agreement, takes the signing amount and commits his dates and everything, I think he shouldn't go back off, that's not correct. That is not ethical. Whatever the reason may be, but it shouldn't be done." Trade perspective A situation like this which has gotten serious now, may really affect 'Hera Pheri 3' and the future of it. However, one hopes that all goes well and in that case, a controversy like this only is a testament to people's anticipation towards the film. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh opines that this issue could just have been sorted internally. He says, "I wish Akshay and Paresh would have sat across the table and sorted it out. This entire thing of sending a notice to Paresh Rawal is something which doesn't really sound nice. They have been friends and they have been colleagues for almost three decades now, and I think it's not right to actually take it to a legal level. I feel that way. But anyway, I hope good sense prevails and they sit across the table and sort it out. Film trade expert Girish Wankhede adds, "I believe that the ongoing controversy surrounding 'Hera Pheri 3' will not adversely affect its prospects. In fact, it has garnered additional media attention, which can be beneficial. However, the conflict involving Akshay Kumar, the producer, and Paresh Rawal casts a shadow over the film industry as a whole. The chemistry between Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal is exceptional, and Paresh Rawal is one of the few actors who has consistently collaborated with director Priyadarshan. Given that Priyadarshan has directed numerous successful films featuring Paresh Rawal, any deterioration in this relationship could reflect poorly on the industry, suggesting a lack of loyalty among friends." He added, "While the business side of things looks promising—after all, 'Hera Pheri' is a highly successful franchise that has the potential to grow even larger in terms of scale and brand recognition—the underlying issues are concerning. This situation serves as a reminder of the complexities within the film industry, where personal disputes can overshadow professional relationships. Netizens react: 'No Hera Pheri without Babu bhaiya' Paresh Rawal took to X and clarified, "I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER . I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director." Here's how netizens had reacted to his exit. A user said, "Sir main nas kaat lunga, take your decision back. Paise jyada chahiye toh hum Hera pheri fan club crowdsource kar denge." Another one said, "Hera Pheri without Baburao is hard to made the role unforgettable with your perfect timing and matter what, fans will always think of you first when they think of Hera Pheri. Still hoping that it's just a marketing campaign to get some hype and there's a surprise and you return — because no one can take Baburao's place!" Clearly, people unanimously believe there can't be 'Hera Pheri 3' without Paresh Rawal and hope the actor is back on board!

Shalmali Kholgade on World Baking Day: Baking is a great distraction for me, love making banana cake

'I have a massive sweet tooth. So, baking was a natural progression for me. It is also a great distraction. It helps me focus on something other than work,' says singer Shalmali Kholgade, as she bakes a banana cake while shooting for HT City on World Baking Day today. Shalmali, who has songs such as Lat Lag Gayi (Race 2), Balam Pichkari (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani), Daaru Desi (Cocktail) and Pareshaan (Ishaqzaade) to her credit, says her creativity as a musician enhances when she gets to working on a song after baking. 'Whenever I have a free day, I bake. It helps me relax and recover from a hectic schedule. On those days, I'd pull up an old recipe or try a new one I saved on Instagram. Banana bread is my all-time favourite. The one I make often is a 5-ingredient, no flour, no added sugar recipe that also fits into my diet as an afternoon snack. It doesn't require any elaborate equipment, hence is quite convenient to bake,' says the singer, who takes to baking, knitting or art for stress relief. Bachpan ki yaad The singer goes on to share how her love for baking crops from her fond childhood memories of baking a cake with her aunt. 'When I was in school, my aunt lived with us. She would often bake carrot cake and that was the highlight for me. I would sit on the dining table and whip eggs or sift the flour or grate the carrots and just wait impatiently for the cake to come out of the oven. I also loved licking the remnants of the cake dough that didn't make it into the oven. I would never have the patience to wait for the cake to cool down after it came out of the oven.'
