Rachakonda police recover 1,130 stolen phones in Hyderabad worth Rs 3.5 crore
In a significant crackdown against mobile phone thefts in the city, officials from the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate in Hyderabad have recovered 1,130 stolen or lost mobile phones over the course of the last two months. The recovered mobile phones are valued at around Rs 3.5 crores. Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Sudheer Babu, stated that a total of 3,694 mobile phones have been recovered from the Rachakonda Commissionerate area so far this year. The recovered mobile phones were handed over to their rightful owners in an official from handing over the stolen mobile phones, police have also issued an advisory to the public warning them against the purchase of stolen mobile phones. Through this advisory, citizens have been urged not to buy second-hand mobile phones without an authorised bill or proper ownership documents, as doing so could lead to legal authorities also emphasised the importance of verifying the authenticity of mobile phone purchases to curb the market for stolen devices. - EndsMust Watch

Hyderabad: BJP leaders file complaint over alleged fake marriages using fake Aadhaar cards
ANI 23 May 2025, 00:52 GMT+10 Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 22 (ANI): BJP leaders have filed a police complaint at IS Sadan Police Station, alleging that a couple from different communities registered their marriage using fake Aadhaar cards at the Champapet registrar office in Hyderabad, on Thursday. The police complaint copy provided by the BJP leader Veerender Babu stated that the couple used forged identity documents to get married. Babu demaned the state government to inquire and take strict action. He also alleged that Rohingyas, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani nationals are allegedly trapping Indian girls and marrying them. In the complaint, Babu stated, 'We demand that the Telangana state government conduct an inquiry into the matter. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the government decided to identify illegal immigrants. However, Rohingyas, Bangladeshis, and Pakistanis are allegedly trapping Indian girls and marrying them. We demand that the state government take action against those providing fake Aadhaar cards to illegal immigrants. Recently, four people were held in the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate for fake Aadhaar cards.' Responding to the complaint, Inspector of IS Sadan Police station said, 'BJP leaders filed a compliant about the matter, we are verifying.' Further investigation into the case is ongoing. (ANI)

Teen dies after being injected with painkiller medicine; two held in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Two persons who sold painkiller pills without prescription to three teenagers were arrested here as one of them died, police said on Monday. The painkiller tablets were sold to the youngsters by two persons, including the owner of a medical shop, and the youth injected it after crushing the tablets and mixing them with saline water, a release from Rachakonda Police Commissionerate said. After injecting the tablet, the trio, all friends, fell sick and were admitted to different hospitals in the city last week and a 17-year-old among them died while undergoing treatment on April 19, police said. Acting on a complaint lodged by the father of the deceased, the Balapur police arrested the two accused after booking a case against them on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and under relevant sections of BNS. The complainant stated that the two accused caused his son's death by indulging in selling the pills. On the modus operandi, the police said the prime accused made friendships with youngsters in the locality and explained to them that if they inject the pain killerpills with mixing of saline water into the nerves, they get drowsiness. He would initially provide the injections for free. After the youngsters got addicted, he would charge for them. The accused purchased the painkiller tablets from the owner of the medical store. Both the accused were aware that the usage of painkillers in heavy doses causes death and supplying it to minors is an offence, police said. The police appealed to parents to observe their children's behavour closely, if found any abnormalities. Police further said if the parents suspect that their children are taking any drug, then they should inform to the local police. Medical shop owners were instructed not to sell any drug to the customers without any prescription. If any violation is found then legal action will be initiated, police added.
