New York Times bestselling author to headline children's book festival in Northwest Louisiana
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A New York Times best-selling author will headline the Children's Book Festival at Shreve Memorial Library.

Rachel Renee Russell is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the 'Dork Diaries' series, an international blockbuster that follows the life of a middle school student and her best friends. The series' illustrations were created by Rachel's daughter, Nikki Russell, and feature a blend of anime and manga styles. 'Dork Diaries' has achieved significant success, spending more than 300 weeks on the bestseller list and being translated into 52 languages across 57 countries.
The mother-daughter duo also created another New York Times bestselling series titled 'The Misadventures of Max Crumbly,' which won a Children's Choice Book Award. Award-winning children's book authors Greg Foley, Alicia Salazar, and Charlotte Gunnufson will also co-headline this year's book festival. The event will be held on Saturday, May 3, at Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSUS) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
