Why Cinq Mondes Spa at Raffles The Palm Dubai is FACT's Spa of the Year 2025
The spectacular, sprawling spa creates an air of exclusivity. Who should be crowned Spa of the Year? Is it the serene sanctuary tucked inside a grand palace or the urban hideaway that locals swear by? What does Spa of the Year even mean in a city like Dubai, where expectations are sky-high and standards even higher? Designed with meticulous attention to detail, Cinq Mondes Spa at Raffles The Palm exemplifies what it means to deliver not just treatments but transformative experiences. From holistic rituals to cutting-edge skincare, it blends timeless techniques with modern sensibilities in a setting of unrivalled opulence. Dubai may be saturated with options, but Cinq Mondes Spa offers something rare: consistency, craftsmanship, and calm. It's a spa that reflects the city's dedication to wellness, elegance, and excellence. That's why Cinq Mondes Spa at Raffles The Palm is FACT's Spa of the Year in Dubai 2025. A benchmark in beauty that sets the standard in serenity. The Verdict A visit to a spa can often feel like prescribed relaxation time. Whether you're in the mood or not, you must – starting now, for the next hour – unwind. It can be tough to get into that headspace, especially when you know the routine: breath in, back massage, turn over, front massage, gong, job done. At Raffles The Palm Dubai's Cinq Mondes Spa, however, that is not the case. Spoiler alert: I had one of the best massages in Dubai. At Raffles The Palm Dubai's Cinq Mondes Spa, the attentive experience starts from the moment I pull up to the grand entrance. A member of staff leads me through the five-star hotel, with its crystal chandelier, gold touches, high ceilings, towering pillars and a twinkling pianist, all the way to the spa. Given the hotel's palatial proportions, be sure to arrive early. As you walk down the long, luxurious corridors, away from the bustling streets, it sets the scene for you to – the magic word – relax. Raffles The Palm Dubai's Cinq Mondes Spa offers state-of-the-art treatments, including Celliss (cellulite treatment), Gharieni Welnamis (vibrational therapy), Ko Bi Do Royal Regenerating Facial Massage, and the MLX Quartz Bed for Psammo (hot sand) Therapy. Spanning 3,000 square metres, the spa features 23 treatment rooms, two private spa suites, and an indoor pool. Additionally, the facility features VIP spa suites, two traditional hammams, a fully equipped gym, and a yoga studio, making it the largest spa in Dubai. While the hotel lobby boasts Arab opulence, the spa oozes French elegance. Sure, there are touches of gold, but they're offset by the white, beige, and cream hues. The changing area is vast, boasting the latest mod cons, a steam room, and a relaxation area. Plus, thanks to the maze-like design and curved corridors lined with candles, which lead to the treatment rooms, you have no choice but to get lost in the experience. Raffles The Palm Dubai's Cinq Mondes Spa offers a menu of body treatments, facials, massages, and wellness experiences. I booked a Traditional Oriental Massage (AED 550 for one hour), which is a full-body massage. Cinq Mondes pride themselves on their natural, petrochemical-free products, and this treatment uses Argan oil in slow, deep movements. The treatment begins with a refreshing foot wash, followed by a massage across the back of my body and front of my body. Every request, from a change of pressure to temperature, is swiftly met. Most full-body massages end with the face and head, and even though the therapist has kneaded out the knots in my shoulders and neck, she goes one step further at the end. She sits me up, continues at a different angle and is determined to release the tension – and it works. I can feel the benefits, especially the next day. Following some time in the tiled steam room and after enjoying a few laps around the indoor swimming pool, the experience ends in the relaxation area. There's an air of exclusivity, as there are only a handful of beds nestled into the walls, all with net curtains and all empty. I settle into a soft bed. Phone-free, it's perfect for some me-time. And, of course, that chance to fully relax. As the winner of the 'best' Spa Brand in Dubai and the 'favourite' resort spa in Dubai at the FACT Spa and Wellness Awards UAE 2023, this sprawling spa is one you don't want to miss. Raffles The Palm Dubai launches 'royal' afternoon tea
Raffles The Palm Dubai has unveiled an all-new afternoon tea experience, 'The Grand Palaces Afternoon Tea', set within the opulent surroundings of the lobby's grand Blüthner Hall. Guests are invited to embark on an immersive journey through the culinary splendours of Europe's royal palaces, from England and France to Austria and beyond, where each bite is inspired by the taste of the sophisticated flavours and grandeur traditions that once graced the tables of monarchs. Taking place daily from 2pm to 6pm at AED395 per couple, each course, crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Samith James, is a nod to the rich traditions and sophisticated tastes that defined the lives of kings and queens. Elevating this experience is the meticulous thought and care infused into every detail. Guests are welcomed with a bespoke gold accented hand-written letter by Chef James, as he narrates the culinary journey they will embark on, accompanied by a regal scroll featuring sketches of each palace and its pastry, which takes guests through a visual journey of European grandeur. Starting with the quintessential British ritual inspired by the grandeur of Buckingham Palace, guests will savour delicate flavours of cucumber sandwiches and the timeless Victoria Sponge Cake, a favourite of Queen Victoria herself. The journey continues to the opulent Palace of Versailles, where visitors are treated to the palatial flavours inspired by Marie Antoinette's lavish lifestyle, embodied in the exquisite Orange Blossom Macaroon. Further into this culinary voyage, the experience captures the essence of Vienna's renowned Schönbrunn Palace with the legendary Sacher Torte, a decadent chocolate cake layered with apricot jam, an ode to the city's rich culinary history. The comforting warmth of Belgium's Royal Palace is also celebrated with a modern take on the beloved Speculoos Cake, a delightful blend of spiced biscuits and rich chocolate, embodying the warmth of traditional Belgian confectionery. Each element of the menu serves as a tribute to the storied history and cultural richness of the historical palaces. The honey-drenched Medovnik Cake pays homage to the Czech Republic's regal traditions, offering layers of honey-infused sponge and creamy filling, while the Kyiv Cake showcases the artistic legacy of Ukraine's Mariyinski Palace with its delicate sponge and meringue layers.
