Gram Chikitsalaya trailer: Panchayat makers return with another rural story as Amol Parashar hunts for patients. Watch
Another comedy series is set to hit the OTT platform Prime Video as TVF drops the trailer for their new show, Gram Chikitsalaya. Prime is collaborating with the makers of the hit show Panchayat, which features actors like Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta. The rural comedy stole hearts as it highlighted the daily struggles of rural India while following the life of a government officer stationed in the village. Created by Deepak Kumar Mishra, Gram Chikitsalaya revolves around a young doctor from the city who is trying to revive an old, forgotten and desolate medical clinic in the village. The city guy who will experience village life this time around is Dr Prabhat Sinha, played by Amol Parashar; the rest of the cast includes Vinay Pathak, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Akash Makhija and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. The trailer shows him going against the general lack of a medical structure in the village, systemic corruption and deeply rooted beliefs of the residents. Watch Gram Chikitsalaya trailer In order to break people's habit of not visiting the government clinic, Prabhat goes from door to door trying to see if there is anyone who needs medical assistance, but he ends up getting rejected by the villagers. This sets the tone for the show and tells the audience about the primary conflict of the narrative, convincing the residents of the village to believe in the government's aid once again. The trailer showcases similar characters as Panchayat, with Amol taking the place of Jitendra, Anandeshwar and Akash replacing Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy, and Akansha coming in place of Sanvikaa. The challenges might be a bit different, but the narrative seems to be along the same lines. Gram Chikitsalaya is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide on May 9 under the banner of The Viral Fever.
