Last Updated: Rahul Vaidya recalls calling Virat Kohli's fans jokers and claimed that the joke was "sensationalised and blown out of proportion". Rahul Vaidya has opened up about how Virat Kohli's fans threatened him after the former complained about the cricketer blocking him on Instagram. In a recent interview, Rahul recalled calling Kohli's fans jokers and claimed that the joke was 'sensationalised and blown out of proportion". 'That chapter is closed now. It was a joke but his fans turned it into a very ugly controversy. The joke was sensationalised and blown out of proportion, and it became something else altogether. But bygones be bygones, it is all over now," Rahul told Telly Talk, days after Virat Kohli unblocked him on Instagram. However, the singer also admitted, 'What upset me the most in this row was how I was targetted and my family was targetted and abused. I received death threats. 'Jaan se maar dunga, kabhi dikhna mat', Kohli's fans said. And people can get away with writing such things because there is no accountability on the internet." What Happened Between Rahul Vaidya And Virat Kohli? The fight between Vaidya and Kohli started after the singer complained about the cricketer blocking him on Instagram. He had shared an Instagram Story: 'So guys, Virat Kohli has blocked me, as you all know. I think that too is an Instagram glitch. Instagram k algorithm ne bola hoga Virat Kohli ko ki, 'Ek kaam kar, main tere behalf pe Rahul Vaidya ko block kardeti hoon'. Hain na?" Later, Rahul also called Virat Kohli fans 'jokers' on his Instagram stories and wrote, 'And now you are abusing me that's fine but you are abusing my wife my sister.. who have nothing to do with this! So I was right. That's why you all Virat Kohli fans are jokers! 2 kaudi ke jokers." However, Virat Kohli unblocked Rahul Vaidya from Instagram on May 17, 2025. Sharing the same on his Instagram, the singer had written, 'Thanks, Virat Kohli, for unblocking me. You are one of the best batsman cricket has ever seen and aap India ka garv ho! Jai Hind. Rahul Vaidya Refuses Rs 50 Lakh Offer To Perform In Turkey: ‘No Fame Is Bigger Than…'
Last Updated: Rahul Vaidya said that anyone who goes against the interests of his country will not be entertained. Rupali Ganguly recently hit the headlines after she publicly called for a boycott of Turkey, following the country's stance in favour of Pakistan after India's Operation Sindoor. Now, singer Rahul Vaidya has also joined the list of Indians who are boycotting Turkey. He shared that he recently turned down a lucrative offer of Rs 50 lakh to perform at a wedding on July 5 in Antalya, Turkey. He said that his decision to decline the offer was driven purely by national interest, and that no fame or money is bigger than the interest of his country. While speaking with Bombay Times, Rahul Vaidya said, 'The offer was lucrative- they were paying me Rs 50 lakh. But I told them that no work, no money, and no fame is bigger than the interest of the country. They even offered me more, but I made it clear that it wasn't about the money. This issue is far more important than that. It's not about me as an individual; it's about the nation. And we have to stand by our nation." He further added that he has no desire to visit or work in a country that is 'an enemy' of his country, and does not respect it. 'Whatever I am today is because of my country and my fellow countrymen. Anyone who goes against the interests of my country and countrymen will not be entertained," he stated. Rahul Vaidya said that anyone who is against India, is against him. 'Indians spend so much money in Turkey and give them enormous business by hosting weddings there. We give them revenue worth crores and this is how they respond? How can we continue spending money in a country that isn't even loyal to us?" he asked. Meanwhile, a few days ago, Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly also made a strong appeal, and wrote on X (formerly Twitter), 'Can we please cancel our bookings for Turkey. This is my request to all Indian Celebs/Influencers/Travellers. This is the least we can do as Indians. #BoycottTurkey." First Published:

‘Not Relevant': Abhijeet Sawant Slams Rahul Vaidya's Comments On Virat Kohli
Last Updated: Rahul Vaidya had earlier claimed in his posts that Virat Kohli had blocked him on Instagram. Actor-singer Rahul Vaidya has been at the centre of a controversy for a while now, owing to his multiple comments on Virat Kohli. From calling fans of the Indian cricketer 'jokers" to claiming that Kohli blocked him on Instagram, Vaidya grabbed a lot of attention with his social media activities. Now that the singer says he's been unblocked by Kohli, Indian Idol 1 winner Abhijeet Sawant couldn't resist taking a playful jab at him. Sawant, who previously competed with Rahul Vaidya on the singing reality show Indian Idol, opened up about his thoughts on a Hindi Rush podcast. Noting that he isn't friends with the singer, Sawant shared, 'He is somebody, like I said, unnoticed. But he will never go unnoticed. So somebody who has the habit of not going unnoticed will do something to get attention." In response to whether Rahul Vaidya intentionally picked up Virat Kohli's massive fan base, he added, 'It can be possible, and I don't find it relevant. I don't find any meaning to it. Fine, if you see someone doing wrong, no matter how big there, you should speak up." During the conversation, Sawant claimed that a few artists actually do PR things to stay in the news. Without taking names, he quipped, 'I don't want to do any such Rahulgiri." Rahul Vaidya-Virat Kohli Controversy The online feud stemmed from Virat Kohli accidentally liking a picture of Avneet Kaur, following which the cricketer issued a statement and cited Instagram's technical issues. In the aftermath, Rahul Vaidya dropped a fierce post, claiming, 'So guys, Virat Kohli has blocked me, as you all know. I think that, too, is an Instagram glitch. Virat Kohli didn't block me. Instagram's algorithm told Virat Kohli, 'I'll block Rahul Vaidya on your behalf. Right?" Days after his controversial comments, Rahul Vaidya posted on Saturday that Virat Kohli has unblocked him on Instagram. Expressing gratitude, Vaidya called Kohli 'one of the greatest batsmen." He also addressed the criticism he and his family faced amid the backlash. Despite the ongoing exchanges between Vaidya and Kohli's fans, no official statement has yet come from the cricketer or his team. First Published:
