Rahul Vaidya said that anyone who goes against the interests of his country will not be entertained.
Rupali Ganguly recently hit the headlines after she publicly called for a boycott of Turkey, following the country's stance in favour of Pakistan after India's Operation Sindoor. Now, singer Rahul Vaidya has also joined the list of Indians who are boycotting Turkey. He shared that he recently turned down a lucrative offer of Rs 50 lakh to perform at a wedding on July 5 in Antalya, Turkey. He said that his decision to decline the offer was driven purely by national interest, and that no fame or money is bigger than the interest of his country.
While speaking with Bombay Times, Rahul Vaidya said, 'The offer was lucrative- they were paying me Rs 50 lakh. But I told them that no work, no money, and no fame is bigger than the interest of the country. They even offered me more, but I made it clear that it wasn't about the money. This issue is far more important than that. It's not about me as an individual; it's about the nation. And we have to stand by our nation." He further added that he has no desire to visit or work in a country that is 'an enemy' of his country, and does not respect it.
'Whatever I am today is because of my country and my fellow countrymen. Anyone who goes against the interests of my country and countrymen will not be entertained," he stated.
Rahul Vaidya said that anyone who is against India, is against him. 'Indians spend so much money in Turkey and give them enormous business by hosting weddings there. We give them revenue worth crores and this is how they respond? How can we continue spending money in a country that isn't even loyal to us?" he asked.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly also made a strong appeal, and wrote on X (formerly Twitter), 'Can we please cancel our bookings for Turkey. This is my request to all Indian Celebs/Influencers/Travellers. This is the least we can do as Indians. #BoycottTurkey."

Housefull 5 Director 'Understands' Deepika Padukone's 8-Hr Shift Ask: 'Want To Spend Time With My Dog'

Last Updated: Tarun opined that an 8-hour shift ask is justified, but should be voiced before the shoot commences. Housefull 5 director Tarun Mansukhani has addressed Deepika Padukone 's reported demand for an 8-hour shift since becoming a mother. In a recent chat with India Today, Tarun opined that an 8-hour shift ask is justified, but should be voiced before the shoot commences. He said that it must be included in the contract. Tarun mentioned that he would also like to be home and spend time with his dog. Tarun Mansukhani said, 'I want to go home and spend time with my dog, and I understand the feeling. But you have to put it in the contract so that everyone is prepared." He said that once the film goes on floors, there are a lot of other factors involved, like actors' schedules, location permissions and money. Addressing Deepika Padukone's reported 8-hour work request, he said, 'No problem. Eight hours? I'll need that many extra days, and then we'll go ahead, but you need to tell me in advance. You can't come to me at 11 am and tell me you need to leave at 5. There are other actors involved; the location for the day might not be available again, or the budget might not allow it." Deepika Padukone, Sandeep Reddy Vanga Row For the unversed, Deepika Padukone was reportedly removed from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit as the director couldn't match her demands. As per reports, these demands included an 8-hour work day, which amounts to 6-hour shoot time, and a remuneration upwards of Rs 20 crore. Several acclaimed celebs like Ajay Devgn and Mani Ratnam have spoken in favour of Deepika's reported demand for an 8-hour shift. Housefull 5 Review Meanwhile, Tarun Mansukhani's Housefull 5 has finally been released in theatres. News18 Showsha gave the film 2.5/5 stars. Our review read, 'The movie is set on a luxurious cruise ship, and a chain of mishaps and murder make up the plot of the film, which feels stretched and dull. Besides a weak script, the film is filled with mediocre jokes and situational comedy that doesn't hit the right chord." 'However, it does offer a few laughs here and there. Throughout the film, Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh are trying their best to make their chemistry and comic sense to make you laugh. But, the dull script and somewhat lame jokes don't live up to their efforts. While the three male actors are running around in their own rut, the three lead women of the film are having a joy ride of their own," the review also mentioned. Vikrant Massey REACTS To Prithviraj Chauhan Show: 'He Was Never Truly Defeated'

Last Updated: Vikrant Massey praises Sony TV's Prithviraj Chauhan show, calls the king a timeless hero and questions misleading historical narratives about his defeat by Ghori. Actor Vikrant Massey, known for his powerful performances in both television and film, has recently opened up about his deep connection with Indian history—especially the legacy of warrior-king Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. Inspired by the promo of Sony TV's upcoming historical show Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Massey took to Instagram to express his thoughts on the misunderstood narratives around one of India's greatest rulers. Massey, who began his acting career with TV shows like Balika Vadhu and has since transitioned into acclaimed films such as 12th Fail and The Sabarmati Report, revealed that history has long been a personal passion. 'Very few people know that history has always been my favorite subject," he shared. 'Even today, I read history books simply out of interest—because to understand the present, it is essential to understand the past." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vikrant Massey (@vikrantmassey) Commenting on the promo of the new series, Massey addressed the long-contested story of Prithviraj Chauhan's conflict with Mohammad Ghori. 'Who says that Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated by Mohammad Ghori?" he questioned. 'Chauhan defeated Ghori multiple times and spared his life every time. It was only when Ghori used deceit that he succeeded. He captured Chauhan, blinded him, and had him killed in an inhumane manner." The actor went on to challenge commonly accepted historical narratives. 'Books may say, and our neighboring country may believe, that Ghori defeated Chauhan. But that's not the full truth. A nation or civilization doesn't fall in a day—it takes centuries. And even now, nearly 1,000 years later, India thrives. On the other hand, Ghori's own land, Ghor, is among the most underdeveloped in the world." With great pride, Massey concluded, 'Prithviraj still lives on. We are proud of him. But in Ghori's country, no one even speaks his name." Massey's impassioned reflection has added to the anticipation around Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, which promises to bring alive a defining era of Indian history. Airing Monday to Friday at 7:30 PM on Sony TV and streaming on Sony LIV, the show offers a compelling look into the life, battles, and undying spirit of the legendary Rajput king. First Published:
