India's blockbuster stage production ‘Humare Ram' to make global debut at Dubai Opera

One of the most visually arresting and emotionally resonant Indian stage productions in recent years, Humare Ram is set to make its international debut at Dubai Opera from August 14–17. Having captivated over half a million people across 300+ sold-out shows in India, the contemporary retelling of the Ramayana brings a bold new energy to an ancient tale —infused with enthralling music and cinematic flair. Led by powerhouse performers including Ashutosh Rana as Ravan and Rahull R Bhuchar as Shri Ram (also the show's writer and co-creator), the production marries moral complexity with visual spectacle. This is not a tale of black and white, but one that invites the audience to see shades of grey in the story's most familiar characters. "When audiences resonate with the emotional and philosophical core of Ravan in Humare Ram, they begin to see beyond the binary of good and evil," said Rana. "Performing in Dubai is not just an artistic milestone — it's a cultural confluence. Through devotion, nuance, and storytelling, we hope to build bridges that transcend borders." Supported by an ensemble cast that includes Harleen Kaur Rekhi (Sita), Danish Akhtar (Hanuman), Tarun Khanna (Shiva), and Karan Sharma (Surya), the production explores the idea of dharma as a lived truth rather than a rigid doctrine. Backed by Felicity Theatre, Humare Ram is a technical feat, with over 100 cast and crew members involved in each show. Expect a sensory spectacle: original music by legends like Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, and Shankar Mahadevan; immersive LED backdrops; choreographed aerial acts; and handcrafted costumes that breathe life into lesser-known chapters of the epic. Since its debut in India, the production has been lauded by cultural icons, including Mukesh and Nita Ambani, Alia Bhatt, Sachin Tendulkar and several others, for pushing the boundaries of Indian theatre. Tickets are available on Platinumlist and at the Dubai Opera box office. Book now, limited performances only.
