PBA: ROS guard Felix Lemetti out for rest of Philippine Cup due to hand injury

Rain or Shine will be one man down heading to the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup playoffs as Felix Lemetti has been ruled out for the remainder of the conference. According to the Elasto Painters, the Filipino-Swedish guard sustained a left-hand fracture during a team practice on Monday. "Felix Lemetti sustained a left-hand fracture during yesterday's team practice and will be out for the rest of the conference," Rain or Shine said in a Facebook post. "Speedy recovery, Felix!" The Elasto Painters are coming off a 109-99 win over Phoenix last Wednesday that solidified their quarterfinals spot with Adrian Nocum and Jhonard Clarito leading the way with 30 and 20 points apiece. Rain or Shine, who now holds a 5-3 win-loss record, will now be needing more of that with Lemetti now out for the rest of the season. —Bea Micaller/JMB, GMA Integrated News

Is Dwight Ramos open to joining 'pogi-only' squad Rain or Shine? Gian Mamuyac asks

From 'Bayan ng Rain or Shine' to 'Bayan ng Pogi'? Rain or Shine Elasto Painters head coach Yeng Guiao recently said in jest that aside from the Elasto Painters' need for a big man, Kris Porter was also signed because he was good looking. "Gusto namin yung mga may itsura rin. Bawal ang pangit dito sa Rain or Shine so may advantage siya doon," Guiao joked last Wednesday. Well, Rain or Shine does have a lot of heartthrobs with the likes of Caelan Tiongson, Andrei Caracut, Anton Asistio, and Shaun Ildefonso to name a few. But are they open to welcome one of the most talked about players in Philippine basketball in Dwight Ramos? This is a question which another pogi player Gian Mamuyac asked his former teammate Ramos during a watch brand's event last Saturday. Mamuyac and Ramos played together previously for Ateneo de Manila in the PCCL in 2020 before the pandemic hit and the latter decided to bring his talent to Japan. During the event, Mamuyac playfully asked Ramos if the latter is open to play in the PBA, and join the Elasto Painters. Here is Ramos' answer: "Maybe, you gotta ask Coach Yeng," Ramos said. "Coach Yeng hasn't talked to me and maybe we can work something out." While Ramos has no definite answer yet, fans can still catch him in Japan as he just renewed his contract with the Levanga Hokkaido in the Japan He is also part of the Gilas Pilipinas squad which will play in the FIBA Asia Cup and the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. Beyond his looks, Ramos would surely be loved by any team because of his talent. —JKC, GMA Integrated News
