Joey Bada$$ And Serayah Can 'Bearly Wait' For Newborn In Baby Shower Pics
Serayah and Joey Bada$$ celebrated their first child together with a blue, bear-themed baby shower. In a carousel upload to Instagram, the expecting couple was joined by family and friends for the intimate, heart-warming affair. Sharing the clips and pictures, Serayah penned a loving caption dedicated to her unborn child. 'It's so hard me to even describe the gratitude I feel, or where to even start… It's as if my heart bursts a million times over when I think about my son,' expressed the 29-year-old. 'My first born, my purpose, my light, no words can effectively express the love that surrounds you. We are so thankful to our friends and family for showing up and showing out for us during this time. To my hunny, my rock, my soulmate thank you for being there every step of the way, I love you so much' 'We can't wait to see you leave your imprint on this world lil man,' she closed with the sparkling emoji. The couple revealed their pregnancy earlier this year in a stylish manner. Taking the runway during New York Fashion Week, the Empire actress sashayed for the lingerie brand AdoreMe, revealing her growing baby bump for the first time. Earlier this month, it was confirmed that they are expecting a baby boy. The infant will be the Brooklyn rapper's second child, as he has a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. 'I can't say that she's excited,' shared the Raising Kanan star with ESSENCE. 'I think she's processing, you know what I mean? I think she's like, 'I got to share my daddy now?' But I already know she's going to come around and she's going to be a great big sister once he gets here. She's going to be super hands-on.' 'It's been a fully spiritual transformation for me. There's been so many things revealed to me and there's a sense of clarity and a natural instinct to just want to do all things,' added the mommy-to-be. 'I feel like I'm a purpose driven person in general, but it's more of an emphasis now on what moves makes sense and how that affects the unit as a whole. And I think that that's something that has definitely transformed me, especially as I'm turning 30 soon. Living my whole 20s just for me, this has been a full transformation now getting ready to parent and be one of the sole people responsible for another human being. So it's definitely been a transformation, but a beautiful one.' More from DJ Akademiks Clowns Ab-Soul For Being Legally Blind In Response To Diss Track Ab-Soul Adds To Joey Bada$$ Vs. Sascha Penn Speaks On Patina Miller's Status Following ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan' Season 4 Finale Cliffhanger
Source: Starz / Power Book III: Raising Kanan / Patina Miller Power Book III: Raising Kanan left us with a cliffhanger involving one of its main characters, and according to Deadline , we shouldn't expect this character to return for the show's fifth and final season. Spoiler alert if you haven't seen Raising Kanan's season 4 finale, 'Gimme The Weight.' The street got plenty of bodies in the season 4 finale, setting up what could be a very explosive fifth and final season for Power Book III: Raising Kanan . When the show returns, one of its lead stars won't be back, and it's none other than Patina Miller, who plays our favorite hustling mama, Raquel Thomas, aka Raq, the website reports. This pretty much confirms what we all feared when the screen fades to black with her son Kanan (MeKai Curtis) pointing a gun at her and we hear one single gunshot. Deadline spoke with series showrunner Sascha Penn and Miller about the season finale and Raq's apparent fate. Per Deadline : Raq accepts her fate like a G, maybe even welcomes it. The episode, 'Gimme the Weight,' written by series creator Sascha Penn, gave her the saddest yet most perfect ending. Raq never shied away from her destiny. When I spoke with Penn this week about Miller's exit, wanting a confirmation that her character is dead and gone, he answered, 'No one is safe, Rosy. Nobody is safe.' Penn continued, 'One of the things we talk about a lot, both on Raising Kanan and also with Power in general, is the existence of characters by proxy. This means that their presence is felt even if they aren't there in the physical sense, so to speak. Raq has left an indelible mark on the family, so if she's not there, we'll still feel her presence if we don't see her. And that's how we do it.' Miller added, 'I've loved [playing Raq], it's been a role of a lifetime. I have loved playing this character. I have loved being able to shape her and do all of the things an actor wants to do with a character. To tell a story from Season 1 all the way to Season 4, not many actors get that opportunity in shows these days. It was a luxury to be part of a long-running show. I've been fortunate and blessed to bring my skill, if you will, and all of the things that I like to bring to my work, to this character, and I've worked incredibly hard. I'm incredibly proud of the work, working with this group, the cast, and the crew. It's really one of my favorite shows I've ever had the opportunity to work on, and one of my favorite experiences. I've learned so much.' Damn. The Streets, aka Social Media, Are Not Happy About Raq's Fate As you can imagine, Power fans were not happy to learn that one of their favorite characters' time running the streets of Southside Jamaica, Queens, had apparently ended. Damn Raq, say it ain't so. You can see more reactions in the gallery below. Power Book III: Raising Kanan to End With Season 5 — But Is This the Final Chapter for the Starz Franchise?
Power Book III is gearing up for its final chapter — which may or may not mark the end of the Power franchise as we know it. Starz on Friday announced that Power Book III: Raising Kanan will conclude with Season 5. The news was revealed in conjunction with the prequel series' Season 4 finale, which introduced Shameik Moore (Wu-Tang: An American Saga) as the oft-mentioned, but never-before-seen Branford 'Breeze' Frady. More from TVLine Power Book IV: Force Ending After 3 Seasons — EP Promises 'Fulfilling' Conclusion to Tommy's Story Power Prequel Series in the Works at Starz, Will Chronicle Origins of Ghost and Tommy Rescue HI-Surf Cancellation Explained: 'We Went All-In,' Says Fox Exec, But It 'Didn't Catch On Like We Had Hoped' 'It was always my intention that Raising Kanan would run for five seasons, and thanks to my friends and partners at Starz and Lionsgate, as well as the incredible cast, crew and writing staff, I've been able to tell the entirety of the story I set out to tell way back in 2019,' executive producer Sascha Penn said in a statement provided to our sister site Deadline. 'Having said that, with the table we've set in this season finale and the inevitable introduction of Breeze, there is still an exceptionally intense and action-packed season left for the viewers to experience, and I assure you that the stakes for Kanan and the entire Thomas family have never been higher. I'm very proud of this series, and grateful that we've been able to see it through to what is an incredibly explosive and satisfying conclusion for the unbelievably loyal fans of the Power Universe.' The original Power launched on Starz in 2014, and ended with Season 6 in 2020. That was followed by three spinoffs: Power Book II: Ghost (which aired four seasons and ended in October 2024), Power Book III: Raising Kanan (which will end with Season 5; premiere date TBA) and Power Book IV: Force (which will return for its third and final season this fall; premiere date TBA). A fourth offshoot, subtitled Influence and centered on slippery politician Rashad Tate, was called off in 2022. Two years later, Starz announced that Origins — which would delve into Ghost and Tommy's backstories, and presumably follow the events of Raising Kanan — was in active development, though there have been no further updates as of press time.
