Rajeev Sen slams haters claiming he lives off sister Sushmita Sen's money: ‘Don't need to be SRK to prove my success'
Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen's brother, Rajeev Sen, has often grabbed headlines due to his personal life. The model and businessman, in his new vlog, addressed the comments from his critics, claiming that he lives off his sister's money and leads a lavish life while residing in his mother's house. He clarified that he does not need to be a superstar to prove his worth or success. Discussing his business ventures, Rajeev said, "I have had a successful jewellery business for a long time. Yes, I am fortunate that a lot of it was given to me because it was my company, it was my parents' company. A lot of it was handed to me on a plate, but even in that scenario, I had to prove myself—that I can sell jewellery. Acting or production, YouTube just happened recently. This is just a passion project that I can afford to give time to because I have other ventures. I am a successful investor. I have earned a lot of money on my own and I am very proud of that fact." Rajeev stated that if his mother ever asked him to leave the house, he would do so and be on the street. While he acknowledged that the assets he personally owns belong to him, he made it clear that he would never claim to have earned the house through his own hard work, emphasising that it belongs to his mother and is the result of her efforts. He further slammed his critics, saying, 'You people don't even have the worth of ₹10. And even if—just assume for a moment—that I'm living a luxurious life, that my mum is signing cheques for me every month, my dad is giving me money, my sister is giving me cheques and telling me to enjoy life—even if that's true, what's your problem? If I'm a content creator, then enjoy my vlogs. If I'm showing my house or something lavish, am I taking money from your pocket? No, right? So please! It doesn't matter to me what you think. My small circle of friends is my family—my parents, close friends, and the people who genuinely love me. They are the ones who matter the most. I don't need to be a Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan to prove that I am successful.' Charu earlier said that she informed Rajeev about her plan to move, and that he can always visit his daughter in Bikaner. In his latest video, Rajeev Sen reacted to Charu's move, saying it has made it difficult for him to be present in their daughter Ziana's life, as he can't travel to Bikaner every weekend. He said that there was 'absolutely no need' for his ex-wife to leave Mumbai, and that he is sure she will come back and settle again in Mumbai. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Rajeev Sen said, 'The woman will always have a bigger role to play, especially when the child is with her. I have very limited resources. I can only do video calls, or I can go meet her (Ziana). Right now, she is not in Bombay. More than anything else, I feel very bad for Ziana. At least if nothing else, there was no need for Charu to leave Bombay. Absolutely no need. Because ghoom phir kea ap log dekh lena, she will come back to Bombay. And I'm not saying for me. She will come back, she will settle down again here." He said that after living and working in the city for so many years, one gets used to the lifestyle and builds friendships. He said that visiting Ziana has become a challenge, because he cannot go to Bikaner every weekend. 'Unki bhi ek lifestyle rahi hai yaha pe. Bikaner is completely different. But I feel like whatever happened was for the highest good. For her and for me." Rajeev said that Ziana is too young to understand what's really happening. He believes this situation applies to many divorced couples with children. He emphasized that children should be allowed to meet their fathers, regardless of issues between the parents.
