Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Dwivedi on Monday said the media cell in Shahjahanpur had seen a video on Instagram and Facebook in which it was written "terror attack in Shahjahanpur" along with sound of firing due to which fear spread among the people.

Representative photo NEW DELHI: Police in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, have filed cases against three people for posting fake videos about a terrorist attack in the district on social media platforms, causing fear among residents, according to Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi on Monday. The media cell in Shahjahanpur discovered videos on Instagram and Facebook with the text "terror attack in Shahjahanpur" accompanied by sounds of gunfire, which spread panic in the area. A case was registered on Sunday at the Cyber Crime police station against Instagram account holder Ankit Kumar. Another case was filed at Kotwali police station against Parvinder, along with a separate case against an unidentified person. 6-year-old girl raped during wedding ceremony
Bareilly: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified person during a wedding ceremony at a relative's house in a neighbouring village in Shahjahanpur district on Monday to the survivor's mother, the girl had been playing with other children while the family waited for the wedding procession when she went missing around 10 pm. She was later found returning from the fields and covered in blood. "Someone took her to a secluded spot and raped her. I want strict action against the accused," she with informing the police, she was admitted to the govt medical college. Police are waiting for the girl's condition to improve. "She is under the trauma of the assault and yet to recover," said were immediately informed, and the survivor was admitted to the govt medical college. Officers said they are waiting for her condition to stabilise before recording her statement. "She is traumatised and yet to recover," police Rajesh Dwivedi visited the hospital late Monday night and confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the Pocso Act. "Multiple teams have been formed to identify and arrest the accused," he said.

IAF's Rafale, Sukhoi, Mirage soar in night drill on Ganga Expressway airstrip in UP's Shahjahanpur
The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a successful night-time combat drill on the country's first expressway airstrip on the Ganga Expressway in Shahjahanpur district on Friday. The exercise, carried out between 7pm and 10pm, saw fighter jets Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar, and Mirage-2000 conduct mock touch-and-go landings and tactical flight operations. 'Multiple fighter jets carried out successful sorties as part of a night operational exercise. The drill involved precision landings, coordinated take-offs, and tactical operations by jets such as Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar, Mirage-2000, and M-32," Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi told PTI. Over 250 CCTV cameras surrounded the 3.5-kilometre airstrip for additional surveillance and security. "Despite strong winds and unfavourable weather during the day, the drill was completed successfully, with the night operations proving to be smoother and more efficient,' Dwivedi said. Although the exercise was originally planned for two days, the IAF managed to carry out the entire operation in just one night. During the drill, some fighter jets were seen landing with the help of ropes dropped from helicopters, followed by ground tactical deployment, he added. Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Arvind Kumar hailed this as a 'historical moment' for the district. 'Fighter jets made contact with the airstrip near the VIP camp and then took off again. Over 1,000 sanitation workers and other personnel from the Panchayati Raj Department were deployed along a 40-kilometre stretch to ensure no animals or obstructions entered the airstrip," he added. Traffic on the Bareilly–Etawah route was stopped for nearly three hours as fighter jet exercises took place on the Ganga Expressway, officials said. Many locals gathered in nearby fields to watch the drills. The airstrip, which was recently inspected by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is now ready for fighter jet landings and operations during both day and night, officials confirmed. The 594-km expressway, connecting Meerut to Prayagraj, was approved by the state cabinet in September 2021. The project, estimated to cost ₹36,230 crore, is being built under a public-private partnership but is currently behind schedule. (With PTI inputs)

The drill, which took place between 7 pm and 10 pm on Friday, saw fighter jets Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar, and Mirage-2000 simulate touch-and-go landings and combat operations on the 3.5-kilometre airstrip near Piru village under the Jalalabad Police Station limits. Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi told PTI, 'Multiple fighter jets carried out successful sorties as part of a night operational exercise. The drill involved precision landings, coordinated take-offs, and tactical operations by jets such as Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar, Mirage-2000, and M-32.' More than 250 CCTV cameras were mounted on and around the airstrip for surveillance and security. 'This ensures safe operations and quick response in case of any untoward incidents,' he said. Traffic was halted for nearly three hours on the Bareilly-Etawah route that intersects the expressway while the sorties took place. 'The programme scheduled for the next day was cancelled as the objective was already achieved,' the SP said. Over 1,000 sanitation workers and other personnel from the Panchayati Raj Department were deployed along a 40-kilometre stretch to ensure no animals or obstructions entered the airstrip.' The airstrip on the Ganga Expressway, recently inspected by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is now capable of supporting fighter jet landings and operations both day and night, officials confirmed. The state cabinet had in September 2021 approved the construction of the 594-km Ganga Expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj. The estimated cost of civil and construction work on the expressway was Rs 36,230 crore at the time of the approval. The project, being made in a public-private partnership model, is running behind schedule.
