1 2 Prayagraj: The district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday launched its Tiranga Yatra campaign and appealed to the citizens of the city to hoist the Tiranga (Tricolour) at their houses. Party's spokesman, Rajesh Kesarwani, told TOI, "On instructions of the central leadership, party workers will hoist the tricolour with pride in every house. The Tiranga Yatra campaign will be run across the city from August 10 to August 12 at the mandal level. Tiranga Yatra was taken out at Mutthiganj, Preetam Nagar, and Rajrooppur mandals on Sunday under its mandal level programmes." On August 14, on India Partition Horror Memorial Day (Bharat Vibhajan Bhibhiksha Diwas), a silent procession will be taken out along with an exhibition. Kesarwani said, "From August 13 to August 15, around one lakh tricolour flags will be hoisted across the Mahanagar. For that, we have appealed to citizens and party workers to hoist the tricolour in all the houses and establishments of the city." Party spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI that the party drafted the entire plan to organise the Tiranga Yatra from May 14 to 23. The roles and responsibilities of party leaders and office bearers have been fixed. He added, "The campaign will also involve ex-servicemen, social workers and prominent social figures who will be part of the yatra."During the 10-day yatra, the party will reach out to residents across the district to raise awareness about Operation Sindoor and its significance for the country's security and sovereignty. A senior party functionary said that Operation Sindoor was a clear demonstration of PM Narendra Modi's determination and fortitude to eliminate terrorists in their safe hideouts. He added that all countrymen are proud of their security forces, who showed valour and bravery during the conflict and taught the terrorist groups a strong lesson.

BJP forms squads to apprise Pasmanda Muslims of Waqf Act

Prayagraj: The district unit of BJP has formed 15 tolis (groups) to reach out to Pasmanda Muslims in all mandals of the district to create awareness about the Waqf Act. The ' Waqf Sudhar Janjagaran Abhiyan ', which kicked off on Sunday, will run till May 5. The BJP has also planned to involve Muslim men and women in holding nukkad sabhas to elaborate on the reasons for bringing the law. Party spokesman Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI that the campaign aims to spread awareness about the benefits of the recently passed Waqf (Amendment) Act. "The campaign will help the party to dispel myths and rumours being created by rival camps. The party will focus on connecting with the masses through samvad and other programmes," he said. With the formation of tolis (groups) comprising workers to top leadership, including MPs and MLAs, the campaign will be held at the booth level across the state. Further workshops will be organised at regional and district levels. At the booth level, nukkad sabhas will be held at key locations. Among those invited will be doctors, advocates, artists, academicians, women activists, personalities, Muslim scholars and social media influencers from the Muslim community and other communities, apart from town halls for women with influential women leaders. It is suggested that every MP and MLA should conduct at least one interactive session in their constituency. Moreover, the party's youth wing will also hold interactive events for the young members of society. At the sub-district level, a door-to-door campaign in prominent pockets of the district and outreach programmes for Muslim women will be undertaken. Besides, a digital campaign using graphics will also be carried out at the district level. Moreover, party workers armed with pamphlets will cover Muslim-dominated pockets. A senior party functionary said: "We have identified locations to hold nukkad sabhas with an adequate population of Pasmanda Muslims and reveal the exact cause for bringing the Waqf Amendment Act . Workers will brief people about the benefits of the law."
