Hi-tech dairy to begin operations in Namakkal from January 2026, says Rajya Sabha member

The ₹90-crore hi-tech dairy under construction in Namakkal district will be operational by 14 January 2026, Rajya Sabha member K.R.N. Rajeshkumar said on Thursday. Mr. Rajeshkumar was speaking at a function held in Ariyagoundampatti, Namagiripettai Town Panchayat, where he participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for a sewage treatment plant (STP) cum faecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP). The ₹15-crore project is being implemented under the Solid Waste Management component of the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. Officials said that this STP-FSTP will be built on two acres of land, with the STP designed to handle 2 MLD and the FSTP with a 10 KLD (10,000 litres) capacity. Under this project, 22 sewage water tanks will be constructed, including eight tanks each at Namagiripettai and Seerapalli town panchayats and six in R. Pudupatti town panchayat. Sewage collected in these tanks in the three town panchayats will be taken to the STP-FSTP through 21.86 km of pipelines. The plant will treat up to 2 MLD of sewage, benefiting 43,823 residents across the three town panchayats. Later, Mr. Rajeshkumar inaugurated three bulk milk coolers (BMCs) installed at Vasanthapuram, Vagurampatti, and Ariyur at a cost of ₹61.88 lakh. He also distributed awards to nine of the region's top-performing milk producers. Mr. Rajeshkumar highlighted progress on the high-tech dairy facility, which incorporates German technology and is being constructed on Mohanur Road, and said it would significantly boost profits for Aavin cooperative milk societies once it becomes operational. MLAs P. Ramalingam and K. Ponnusamy, Namakkal Mayor D. Kalanithi, Deputy Mayor S. Bhoopathi, and officials from various departments were present at the event.

Rajya Sabha member K.R.N. Rajeshkumar, on Wednesday, inaugurated Aavin's Bulk Milk Coolers (BMC) at five locations in Namakkal district. The BMCs were installed at Ponparappipatti, Koonavelampatti, Thathaiyankarpatti, Karaikurichi, and Akkiyampatti at ₹ 1.20 crore. The MP also distributed prizes to 15 best milk producers. Mr. Rajeshkumar said at the event that the State government announced ₹3 per litre as incentive for milk producers and an additional ₹1 per litre for high-fat milk. Three more BMCs will be inaugurated on Thursday. Through this, milk procurement will increase by 2,000 litres and farmers will be able to provide milk till 10 a.m. and between 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Further, construction work is in progress in the district for Aavin dairy. Milk procured in Namakkal district is sent to Salem Aavin and value-added products are manufactured and for this, ₹3.80 is paid for one litre of milk. The milk cooperative societies sustained losses because of this. So, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that a dairy will be constructed on Mohanur Road in Namakkal at ₹90 crore. In the future, the expenses of sending milk to Salem will be reduced and it will increase the profit of the milk societies, Mr. Rajeshkumar added.

Beneficiaries of Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam scheme receive orders in Namakkal

A total of 398 beneficiaries received orders for constructing houses under Kalaignarin Kavanu Illam scheme in Namakkal from Rajya Sabha member K.R.N. Rajeshkumar on Monday. At the functions held at Vennandur, Rasipuram, Namagiripettai, Senthamangalam, Erumapatti, Mohanur, Namakkal, and Puduchatram panchayat union offices on Monday, Mr. Rajeshkumar handed over the orders to 398 beneficiaries to construct houses under the scheme at a total cost of ₹ 14 crore. Similarly, Mr. Rajeshkumar distributed orders to 383 beneficiaries for repairing damaged houses at a total cost of ₹2.83 crore. MLAs P. Ramalingam and K. Ponnusamy and officials participated.
