Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday emphasised that Telangana should aim to have the highest number of candidates selected into the All India Services. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now He added that the Congress-led state govt is committed to supporting aspirants by providing financial assistance to those who have qualified for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Mains. "The role of the bureaucracy is vital in upholding democratic values, and the CSE offer a unique opportunity to improve people's living conditions," the deputy CM said. He was speaking after distributing financial aid of 1 lakh each to 178 candidates who have qualified for the CSE (Mains) from Telangana under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme. The state govt, he assured, is fully prepared to extend all possible support to CSE aspirants. This cheque distribution event, now in its second consecutive year, is aimed at encouraging candidates and boosting their confidence. "The 178 candidates who have qualified for the Mains are each receiving 1 lakh. Those who are shortlisted for the interview will also be granted an additional 1 lakh, along with accommodation support in New Delhi," he stated. He further informed that in the previous year, 148 candidates received financial aid under the scheme, and 10 of them were ultimately selected for the Civil Services. He underlined that both state and central welfare schemes can only be effective if they are implemented sincerely at the grassroots level. "No matter how well-intentioned a govt's programmes may be, they will not yield results without the commitment and integrity of the officials responsible for executing them," he added.

₹1 lakh assistance provided to 178 Civil Services aspirants from Telangana preparing for UPSC Mains exam 2025

Aspirants from Telangana who cleared Civil Services Examination (Preliminary) 2025 held by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and preparing for the Main examination, were provided with ₹1 lakh financial assistance under Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham launched by the State government. On Monday (August 11, 2025), 178 aspirants were handed over the cheques at a programme held in Hyderabad. Government run Singareni Collieries Coal Limited (SCCL) provided the assistance, from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. Besides this, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that candidates who clear the Mains exam and prepare for the Interview round too would be provided with ₹1 lakh assistance. The scheme was launched in 2024. Of the 140 people provided with the assistance last year, 10 were selected for All India Services (AIS). They were honoured on the occasion. Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, SCCL chairman and managing director N. Balram and others were present on the occasion.

SCCL invites applications for Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme

HYDERABAD As part of its efforts to help aspirants preparing for the Civil Services Examination from Telangana, the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has invited online applications from those who have cleared the Prelims recently, for the ₹1 lakh each financial assistance scheme introduced by the company last year with its Corporate Social Responsibility fund. Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL N. Balaram said on Friday that the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham scheme launched last year had achieved encouraging results. This year, children of SCCL workers who cleared Prelims would also receive ₹1 lakh each assistance. Last year, 140 candidates, not the children of SCCL workers, who cleared the Prelims were extended the ₹1 lakh each financial assistance. Of them, 20 went on to qualify for the Mains and were selected for the Interviews. An additional ₹1 lakh each was provided to those who were selected for the Interviews and among them, seven candidates had successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination, Mr. Balaram said. The SCCL is inviting applications in the hope that more candidates would succeed and go on to serve the State and the country, Mr. Balaram said, advising the aspirants to visit the SCCL website at to apply online for the financial assistance, starting from June 23.
