The mantra was shared with young researchers by Prof Rajneesh Arora, director, English and Foreign Languages University's (EFLU), regional campus, Lucknow on Thursday. He was speaking at the concluding function of a two-day conference on 'Studies in Humanities: Trends in Language, Literature, and English Language Education'. Insisting that the humanities are not a luxury but a necessity in today's world, Arora praised the young researchers for decolonizing knowledge, centering indigenous voices, and embodying the spirit of NEP 2020 by rooting their inquiry in Indian ethos while engaging global perspectives. Prof Omkar Nath Upadhyay, head of the department of English and Modern European Languages, LU, spoke on the theme of Indian classical and contemporary literature in translation. TNN
