Committee on MSP held 45 meetings so far: Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

The committee aims to improve the MSP system's effectiveness and transparency. It is also exploring greater autonomy for the CACP. Remove Ads The committee on Minimum Support Price (MSP), headed by former agriculture secretary Sanjay Agrawal , has held 45 meetings so far, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Friday in Rajya committee was established in July 2022, eight months after the government promised to set up such a panel while withdrawing the three contentious farm laws."Overall, 45 meetings, including 39 sub-committee/ sub-group meetings have been held till date," Chouhan said in his written reply to the Upper minister asserted that the government is committed that the full benefits of MSP reach the farmers of the minister explained that the committee was constituted to give suggestions on making the MSP system more effective and the committee was asked to examine the feasibility of giving greater autonomy to the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) and ways to make it more scientific."With a view to ensuring higher prices, the mandate has also been given to give suggestions for strengthening the agricultural marketing system as per the changing needs of the country," he committee is also working on the topics of natural farming and crop diversification . Since its inception, the committee has been holding regular meetings to deliberate on these key issues and develop actionable Centre fixes MSP for 22 mandated agricultural crops for the country as a whole on the basis of the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices (CACP), after considering the views of state governments.

Transgender enrolment in schools, colleges rises, UP, Bihar lead: Government data
India has seen a notable increase in the enrolment of transgender students in both school and higher education, according to data shared by the Ministry of Education in the Rajya data was presented in response to a question by MP Swati per the figures, the number of transgender students enroled in schools rose from just 155 in the 2021-22 academic year to 965 in 2023-24. Foreign black money law: Govt files 163 prosecution complaints; raises Rs 35,105 cr tax, fine demand
The government has levied over Rs 35,105 crore in tax and penalties and filed 163 prosecution complaints under the Black Money Act by March 31, 2025. Approximately Rs 338 crore has been recovered in tax, penalties, and interest between July 1, 2015, and March 31, 2025. Assessments of 1021 have been completed under the Act. Tired of too many ads?
