It Had To Be A Ram: Car Transport Driver Plows Into Parked State Trooper

Read the full story on The Auto Wire Imagine our shock when we saw a car transport hit an Arizona state trooper parked on the shoulder of Interstate 10 only to see the truck was a Ram 3500. It's always a Ram. There's just something special about the brand which seems to attract some of the most reckless drivers on the road – and we say that with some of us owning and driving we can't deny reality. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, this Ram driver, who was towing a carrier full of cars (including a Cybertruck), hit the trooper's Ford F-150 as it was sitting on the dirt shoulder about 20 feet off the road. We don't know if the trooper had his lights activated, but to hit someone parked that far off the interstate is quite the feat. Authorities believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol, so that helps clear up some suspicions we had. From the look of the crash damage, both to the Ford as well as to the Ram, it looks like the car transport driver was going near the speed limit at the time of collision. If so, that means he didn't hit the brakes before impact. The force was enough to push the DPS truck about 60 feet. As you might imagine, the trooper isn't in the best of shape. He was taken to the hospital and might have injuries to his head, something healthcare professionals are trying to assess. There's a reason why the law in Arizona and many other states is drivers need to pull over one lane for stopped emergency vehicles on the side of the road. Of course, alcohol seems to have been a factor in this crash, but we're not entirely sure the truck being a Ram didn't also contribute.
