Amitabh Bachchan Buys Rs 40 Crore Plot In Ayodhya, His Fourth Investment In The City
Last Updated: Amitabh Bachchan buys fourth plot in Ayodhya worth Rs 40 crore, near Sarayu project. Amitabh Bachchan is steadily building his presence in Ayodhya's luxury real estate market. According to a recent Hindustan Times report, the legendary actor has just bought his fourth property in the temple town — a massive 25,000 square foot plot valued at Rs 40 crore. This premium land parcel is said to be located near 'Sarayu', an upscale development in which Bachchan had already invested Rs 14.5 crore. The area has rapidly become a hotbed for high-end real estate, drawing major attention ever since the Ram Mandir project gained momentum. Just days before this latest buy, the Piku star also invested Rs 10 crore each in a real estate firm owned by Bollywood producer Anand Pandit. His earlier investments in Ayodhya include a 5,372 sq ft plot purchased last year for Rs 4.54 crore, ahead of the Ram Temple inauguration. As per Mint, this was the beginning of his interest in Ayodhya real estate. Another significant acquisition was a 54,000 sq ft plot, registered under a trust named after his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Reports suggest the actor is planning to build a memorial on that land dedicated to his late father. Outside Ayodhya, the Bachchans have also been actively expanding their real estate portfolio. In 2023, Amitabh and son Abhishek Bachchan jointly bought 10 apartments worth Rs 25 crore. Jaya Bachchan, during her Rajya Sabha declaration last year, revealed that the couple's total assets were valued at Rs 1,578 crore. Their movable assets stood at Rs 849.11 crore, while immovable properties totaled Rs 729.77 crore. Given recent developments, those numbers are expected to have increased. On the acting front, Amitabh was last seen in the 2024 film 'Vettaiyan," an action drama film directed by T. J. Gnanavel. He is currently preparing for the next season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He has hosted KBC since its launch in 2000, except for Season 3, which featured Shah Rukh Khan. Amitabh Bachchan has already featured in announcement posters and teaser videos for KBC 17, and is expected to shoot full-fledged promos in the coming weeks. The new season is scheduled to go on floors in July, with a premiere planned for the first week of August.

Harohalli Ram temple proposal faces opposition from Dalits
Mysuru: Like Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, where land disputes delayed the construction of the Ram Mandir for decades, the proposed Ram temple in Harohalli village, Mysuru taluk, known for providing the Krishnashila stone used for the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya, is now stuck in a land dispute. While the Dalit family to which the land belongs, formed a trust to construct a Ram temple, a few Dalit organisations are opposing it. They cite the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prohibition of Transfer of Certain Lands) Act, which prohibits using land owned by Dalits for religious purposes. They allege that the Ram temple in the village serves no purpose, and claim that it will be an anti-Dalit act. According to Ramadas' family who own the land, they formed the Balarama Shilodbhava Kshetra (BRSK) trust to build the Ram Mandir on their land where the Krishna Shila was found. Retired teacher and landowner H Ramadas and his wife Jayamma are the founder trustees of the trust, while their son HR Rangaswamy is the president of the trust. "It has five members, including a secretary and treasurer," explained Rangaswamy to TOI. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! IC Markets Start Now Undo "Last Friday (May 23), we wanted to start the carving of Ram's idol using the same piece of Krishna Shila. Sculptor Arun Yogiraj agreed to carve an idol for the temple. A flag hoisting ceremony to mark the start of the temple works was also planned. We invited Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami, Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar, local MLA GT Devegowda, and Arun Yogiraj for the event," explained Rangaswamy. "However, on the eve of the event, we were informed that a few people wanted to disrupt the event, and we decided not to confront them as this is a sacred work. So we cancelled the event to ensure that guests would not face any embarrassment," explained Rangaswamy. "We want to build a temple with devotion. This is the time to bring all humans together," he said. According to locals, the banners and buntings of the event were torn out in protest against the construction of the temple. However, a section of Dalit leaders justified the opposition to the Ram Mandir. They are demanding an educational institute instead of a temple. Senior Dalit functionary and former Mysuru mayor K Purushottam said landowner Ramadas became a teacher because of the Constitution. His children got a good education because of the Constitution. Building a temple on land owned by a Dalit family is against the PTCL Act, he said. "We fear that this temple may be used to spread superstitious belief among people. So we are opposing it," he added.

Amitabh Bachchan expands real estate portfolio in Ayodhya with 25,000 sq ft land purchase worth nearly ₹40 crore
Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has expanded his real estate footprint in Ayodhya, home to the Ram Mandir, with the purchase of another land parcel—this time a 25,000 sq ft plot adjacent to The Sarayu, a luxury plotted development by Mumbai-based real estate firm The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). The deal is valued at nearly ₹40 crore, sources told HoABL declined to comment on the deal. The Bollywood actor could not be reached. This latest acquisition follows Bachchan's earlier investment in 2024, when he purchased a 10,000 sq ft plot in The Sarayu, HoABL's flagship 7-star mixed-use enclave in Ayodhya, for ₹14.5 crore. In March 2025, a report published in TOI revealed that Bachchan had acquired a 54,454 sq ft plot located about 10 km from the Ram Mandir, under the name of the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust. Reports suggested that the land may be used to establish a memorial dedicated to the life and literary contributions of his father, the iconic Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Before the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple in 2024, Amitabh Bachchan had bought a 5,372-square-foot plot in Haveli Avadh for ₹4.54 crore, the report had said. Additionally, the veteran actor had purchased a 10,000 sq ft land parcel in Alibaug for ₹10 crore—also from HoABL—further diversifying his luxury real estate portfolio. According to a report by Liases Foras titled "Ayodhya – A Rising Global Spiritual Capital," the city's real estate market is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by rising land values and increasing interest in both spiritual tourism and long-term investment. The report notes that land prices in Ayodhya have grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19%, with projections suggesting this could reach 25% by 2035. Over the past five years, Ayodhya's growth has been fueled by large-scale infrastructure projects, including the expansion of the international airport, improved road and rail connectivity, and the construction of the Ram Mandir. Land values in key areas such as the Sarayu riverfront and the Ram Mandir corridor have appreciated more than 4.5 times between 2020 and 2025, the report noted. The city is also witnessing a hospitality boom, with over 50 new hotel projects underway. Leading luxury hotel chains such as The Leela, Taj, and The Oberoi are setting up properties in Ayodhya, further cementing its status as a high-potential destination. The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), a branded land developer established in 2020, has delivered over 15 million sq ft of developed land and has more than 30 million sq ft under active development. HoABL has expanded across key locations including Ayodhya, Goa, Alibaug, Anjarle, Dapoli, Neral, Khopoli, and Nagpur in Maharashtra, with upcoming projects in Shimla, Amritsar, Varanasi, Vrindavan, Khopoli, and Nagpur. It aims to expand to 48 cities across India. HoABL has also entered vertical real estate development in Mumbai, with three projects across Marine Lines, Chowpatty, and Naigaon, offering a combined development potential of over 3.1 million square feet.

MP CM Yadav congratulates PM Modi for 11 years of governance, historic decisions
New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing 11 years of governance, marking the anniversary of the Modi-led government. Yadav praised the PM for making historic decisions that have shaped India's political and economic landscape. As June 9 approaches, marking the completion of 11 years of Modi's government, CM Yadav hailed the leadership for overseeing major policy reforms and strategic decisions. He specifically highlighted decisions such as the outlawing of Triple Talaq, the construction of the Ram Mandir, border security initiatives against China, surgical strikes (2016), airstrikes in Pakistan, and the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST). 'June 9 marks the completion of 11 years of PM Modi's government - it's a kind of achievement. I congratulate PM Modi for not only forming the government for three consecutive terms but also making historic decisions - be it Triple Talaq, Ram Mandir and carrying out surgical strike, air strike and the recent operation inside Pakistan; and also to confront China at the borders, including implementing GST,' Yadav told reporters in Delhi. He also praised PM Modi for making the decisions to make India the 4th largest economy in the world. Talking about the preparations for Environment Day on June 5, he highlighted the Jal Ganga Sanrakshan Abhiyan, a water conservation campaign and how the state government is making efforts for conservation. 'June 5 is an important day for Jal Ganga Sanrakshan Abhiyan. It's Environment Day as well, and the state is making efforts to conserve our environment,' he said. Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh CM had come to Delhi to attend NITI Aayog's 10th Governing Council Meeting, and also to attend the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) conclave of Chief Ministers and Deputy CMs. Over 20 Chief Ministers and 18 Deputy Chief Ministers from various states gathered in New Delhi for the conclave, held under the leadership of PM Modi. The meet included a significant discussion on commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, declared on June 25, 1975 and also passed two resolutions; one on praising the armed forces for Operation Sindoor, and for conducting the caste census. Leaders resolved to mark the anniversary in remembrance of the Emergency imposed by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a period that exposed citizens to widespread political turmoil and suppression of civil liberties. Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda addressed a press conference after the conclusion of the meeting and stated that Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, was highly praised by multiple leaders with the bravery of the armed forces being highly appreciated. The resolution on the caste census was also passed in the conclave, with the leaders praising the decision of PM Modi to conduct the caste enumeration exercise, while also affirming that this was not done due to 'caste politics' but to ensure that the deprived, oppressed and exploited are brought to the mainstream. Summer Diet, Cold Bath & More: Ayodhya's Blazing Heat Sparks Changes To Ram Lalla's Routine
Ayodhya faces peak summer heat. Ram Mandir adapts offerings and rituals to keep Lord Ram Lalla cool and comfortable As temperatures soar across North India, the city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, revered as the birthplace of Lord Ram, is experiencing an especially intense heatwave. In response, the Ram Mandir Trust has introduced thoughtful changes to rituals and offerings, ensuring comfort not only for devotees but also for Lord Ram Lalla, the child form of the deity worshipped in the temple. Cooling Adjustments in Bhog Seva: The Trust has modified the traditional Bhog Seva, adapting the food offerings to suit the harsh summer climate. Lord Ram Lalla is now served light, easily digestible meals and cooling beverages, replacing heavier items typically offered in other seasons. Cold Water Baths for Refreshment: To further ease the effects of the heat, Lord Ram Lalla is being bathed in cold water, a ritual believed to bring both physical and spiritual relief. The priests report that these baths help maintain freshness and a serene atmosphere in the sanctum. Summer Additions to Balbhog and Rajbhog: The Balbhog, or morning offering, now includes lassi and mango juice, providing a refreshing start to the day for the deity. Similarly, the Rajbhog, a more substantial meal, has also been adjusted to include only foods that are gentle on the stomach and suited to summer conditions. As Lord Ram Lalla is venerated in the form of a five-year-old child, the Ram Mandir Trust is taking special care, much like any guardian would during extreme weather. Administrator Gopal Rao and temple priests are personally overseeing the arrangements, ensuring that every aspect of service, from food to rituals, is tailored to the comfort and wellbeing of the divine. Seasonal fruits, cool drinks, and mindful offerings are all part of this carefully curated summer regimen. These considerate steps taken by the temple reflect a deep devotion not just in worship, but in care, reminding devotees of the warmth of faith that continues to endure, even in the harshest of summers.
