Officials reviewing Capital Metro DPR visit Kanaka Durga temple
A delegation engaged in reviewing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Capital Metro Project visited the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri here on Wednesday (July 2). The team included Jayadeep, Joint Secretary to the Union government (Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs - MoHUA), retired Chief Engineer Ramakrishna Reddy and State government representatives. During their visit, the officials discussed the project with temple Executive Officer V.K. Seenanayak. They were also spoke about the recent reforms and enhancements undertaken at the temple. Impressed by the developments, the officials congratulated the EO for upgrading temple facilities, preserving its spiritual sanctity and improving the pilgrim experience. Meanwhile, members of the Andhra Pradesh Sādhu Parishad visited the Kanaka Durga Temple as part of the ongoing National Hindu Religious Conference being held in Vijayawada. They were accorded a warm welcome. After the darshan, the Sadhu Parishad members participated in the Aashada saare programme at the Mahamandapam on the premises. Speaking on the occasion, the sadhus lauded the temple's initiatives in upholding Sanātana Dharma, including the organisation of collective spiritual events, free prasadam distribution, and annadanam (offering of meals) to devotees. They praised the temple management for fostering an atmosphere that blends devotion with community service, calling it a model for other temples in the country.

Yoga session held at DTC office
Anantapur: As part of International Yoga Day 2025 celebrations, 'Yogandhra-2025' programme was successfully held at the premises of the Deputy Transport Commissioner's Office in Anantapur. The event was organised following the directions of District Collector and led by M Veerendra, Deputy Transport Commissioner, with expert training and guidance provided by master trainer Dr Ramakrishna Reddy. A Yoga demonstration was skilfully performed by Kumari Ramya from the Yoga Concessions Trust (YCT), Nandyal. The event witnessed active participation from officials and staff and also automobile vehicle dealers, driving school students, and staff of pollution testing centers.

Yoga session held in Anantapur
Officials of the Anantapur District Transport Department took part in a yoga session held as part of 'Yogandhra' campaign, at the office of the Deputy Transport Commissioner, here on Wednesday. The event was organised under the stewardship of Anantapur Deputy Transport Commissioner M. Veerendra and yoga 'asanas' were performed under the guidance of master trainer Ramakrishna Reddy and Kumari Ramya from Yoga Concessions Trust (YCT) in Nandyal. B. Suresh Naidu, RTO, Anantapur, S. Ramesh, RTO, Kalyanadurgam, E.B. Devi, DM&HO, Anantapur and others participated. Automobile vehicle dealers, driving school students, and pollution testing Centres staff also were present.

Yoga, edu workshop at Gorakhnath Temple
Gorakhpur: A week-long Yoga and Educational Workshop was inaugurated on Sunday at Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan in Gorakhnath Temple here to mark the beginning of International Yoga Day celebrations. The event has been jointly organised by Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Yoga Institute, Gorakhnath Temple, and Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad. The inaugural session was graced by Prof Ramakrishna Reddy, Vice Chancellor of AYUSH University, Bhathat. Reddy highlighted the global relevance of traditional Indian health practices, stating, "Yoga and Ayurveda are invaluable gifts from India to the world. While Ayurveda helps eliminate physical ailments, yoga fosters mental peace and spiritual balance." The programme was presided over by Yogi Kamalnath, head priest of Gorakhnath Temple.

Foreign banks ready to give loans to Visakha and Vijayawada metro rail projects: Metro Rail MD
Vijayawada: The State government has been making efforts to put both the Visakha and Vijaya metro rail projects on fast track and as part of it called for tenders for appointment of general consultant. As part of the initiative, the State government focusing on getting loans for grounding of the metro rail projects. It is estimated that both the metro rail projects cost Rs 12,000 crore including Vijayawada metro Rs 5,900 crore and Visakha metro rail Rs 6,100 crore. The AP Metro rail corporation MD Ramakrishna Reddy started consulting various banks to get the loans. At this juncture several foreign banks are coming forward to fund for the metro rail projects in the State. As part of it, Metro rail corporation MD Ramakrishna Reddy discussed with AIIB bank representatives Santosh and Paskal Russel in his office last evening. Earlier the AIIB bank delegation inspected the metro corridors project sites at field level. It may be noted that the Vijayawada metro rail project starts from RTC bus stand to Gannavaram at a stretch of 26 km and also from RTC bus stand to Penamaluru at a stretch of 12 km. The AIIB is in favour of sanctioning loan for the metro rail project. In addition the KFW bank of Germany and AFD bank of France, Jaika bank of Japan and World Bank also coming forward to extend loans to the metro rail projects according to Metro rail MD. He said that they are going to discuss with banks which are going to sanction loans at lesser interest rate.
