Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor: European review concludes Israel violated Association Agreement
Istanbul - Saba: Rami Abdo, head of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, said on Friday that the official European Union review concluded that Israel repeatedly violates Article 2 of the Association Agreement, which requires respect for human rights. Abdo added, in a statement to the Palestinian Safa News Agency, that the investigation conducted by the European External Action Service (EEAS) revealed that the blockade imposed on Gaza amounts to collective punishment, and that the occupation authorities have used starvation as a weapon by cutting off food, water, and healthcare. Euro-Mediterranean Monitor: Aid inflow propaganda shot for Israel
Gaza - Saba: Rami Abdo, head of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, confirmed that what has been discussed so far regarding the entry of aid is nothing more than "a propaganda show that does not even merit respect for people's intelligence." Abdo told the Palestinian Shehab News Agency: "People are in urgent need of thousands of aid trucks, while the talk so far is about five trucks that have not entered deep into Gaza. Rather, the occupation deliberately obstructed their entry until yesterday evening, and they reached the Palestinian side via the Kerem Shalom crossing." He added, "What has entered the Palestinian side are five trucks carrying various goods in small quantities, including, according to preliminary observations, nutritional supplements, baby food, some hay, and shrouds." Abdo continued, "It is clear that we are witnessing a blatant disregard for international demands to deliver food to the starving in Gaza. These trucks are not enough to meet the needs of 2% of the population for one day." He explained that, "Assuming that the five trucks are loaded with food supplies, this means that each Gazan will receive 30 grams of food per person." Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor: France's Facilitation of Evacuation of Palestinians from Gaza Raises Doubts About Transparency, Intentions
Istanbul - Saba: Rami Abdo, head of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, criticized the French embassy's facilitation of the departure of 115 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in a secret operation on April 23, 2025, without clear criteria or transparency, raising suspicions about the true intentions. Abdo questioned the criteria for selecting the evacuees, pointing to the possibility that the operation was being exploited to empty Gaza of its academic and cultural elite, amid the Israeli occupation's continued forced displacement policies. He added that France's continued facilitation of the movements of internationally wanted Israeli officials, while ignoring the humanitarian situation in Gaza, highlights its double standards and potential complicity in implementing ethnic cleansing schemes. Abdo called for linking evacuations to the right of return for Palestinians, calling on the international community to exert serious pressure on Israel to halt its crimes against the population of Gaza.
