Kmart's $39 gadget to keep windows condensation-free in winter: 'Easy'
Whether it's something you use in the kitchen, garden, or bathroom, every now and then, a gadget comes along that makes you wonder how you ever lived life without it. For me, this is exactly how I felt when I recently purchased a window vacuum cleaner.
Not only does the appliance effortlessly clean windows and mirrors streak-free, but it also wipes spills and removes condensation in seconds. Cleaning content creator Ramon Israel is just as pleased with his window vacuum cleaner, which he recently purchased from Kmart for $32.
The cordless product, which has a 5-star review online, has a powerful suction and compact design for easy handling. It has a 40-minute working time and 120ml dirty water tank capacity, and comes with a spray bottle with wiping attachment and microfibre cloth.

After purchasing the window vacuum cleaner in May and testing it on different surfaces for a TikTok video, Ramon tells Yahoo Lifestyle he uses it weekly to clean various spots around the house.
'Even though it's designed to clean windows, I do use it on my kitchen counters, stainless steel appliances like the fridge, inside and outside of the oven door, cupboards, the basin and even the bath tub!' he shares.
'I love how it's affordable, and it's very easy and convenient to use around the home! Plus, it's lightweight, which saves you the pain of feeling as if you're cleaning with a 32kg dumbbell.'
Ramon adds that the appliance 'makes cleaning fun' and motivates him to do it more often; however, he's experienced a few minor issues.
'It needs a bigger emptying system and quicker charging time because let's be honest, not all of us remember to pop things on charge, especially if you are using the cleaning tool once a week!' he remarks. 'Charging can take up to 3 hours, depending on the mess.
'You may have to frequently empty the dirt out, which can disrupt your cleaning flow, and it can also leave very noticeable streaks!'
If you're willing to spend a little bit more, founder and director of Aussie cleaning business Jetlag Remedy, Simone Tsigolis, recommends buying the Kärcher WV2 Black Edition Window Vacuum from Bunnings for $99.
The item is slightly smaller than the Kmart version with a 35-minute working time, but has been described as 'a great time-saving device' in online reviews.
'We love how easy and efficient it is to use. It saves our team so much time and effort, especially when working on large glass surfaces,' Simone tells Yahoo Lifestyle. 'The suction is powerful, leaving windows streak-free in a single pass, which makes a huge difference when you're trying to maintain a professional standard.'
Simone shares that the window vacuum cleaner is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, and creates less mess and dripping water compared to traditional squeegees.
'We use it regularly during spring cleans and as part of our premium window washing service. It's especially effective on large sliding doors, bathroom mirrors, and internal glass partitions,' she details.

Her biggest tips for those using it at home are to clean the blade after each pass to avoid streaks, and use it on slightly damp glass rather than soaking wet.
'Also, if you're doing a full house, empty the tank regularly so it doesn't overflow,' she adds. 'The water tank can fill quickly if you're working on larger areas.'
