And she also expressed her gratitude for her husband and their 4-year-old daughter Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, as well as her brother Robert Irwin, who led the charge at the gala after she canceled her appearance. "Credit to Robert for hosting the evening, he did such an incredible job raising funds and awareness for Wildlife Warriors," Bindi continued. "And thanks to my family for always being there for me. I have so much love for dear Chandler & sweet Grace." And while she didn't specify how long the recovery process would be, Bindi insisted that she would be healthy enough to attend a different Steve Irwin Gala in Australia, later this year. "Rest assured, I'll see you at the next Steve Irwin Gala in Brisbane this November," she said. "One day at a time. Time to heal now." Closing out her message, she added, "Sending my love to you all." Pope Francis' Doctors Considered Letting Him Die Amid Health Crisis

Originally appeared on E! Online Pope Francis made a miraculous recovery. After the pope returned home following a 38-day hospital stay, Dr. Sergio Alfieri, who cared for the pontiff, admitted they did not think he would 'survive the night' amid a Feb. 28 breathing crisis. 'We needed to choose whether to stop and let him go, or to push it and attempt with all of the possible drugs and the treatments, taking the very high risk of damaging other organs,' Alfierfi told Milan's Corriere della Sera in a March 25 interview, per the Associated Press. 'In the end, that is the path we chose.' Indeed, while the course of action was grueling for the 88-year-old—even adding risk of damage to his kidneys and bone marrow—his personal healthcare assistant, Massimilano Strappetti, whom the doctor said 'perfectly' knew what Francis would have wanted urged them to 'try everything, don't give up.' As Alfieri explained that even through a second breathing crisis three days later, 'We continued, and his body responded to the treatments and the lung infection improved.' More from E! 'In this case the whole world was praying,' he explained. 'I can say that twice the situation was lost, and then it happened like a miracle.' Alfieri also complimented Pope Francis' manner during his lengthy stay in the hospital, adding, 'Of course he was a very cooperative patient.' Pope Francis—who was admitted to Gemelli Hospital Feb. 14 for a severe respiratory infection—was officially discharged from the hospital and returned to Vatican City March 23, which marked the beginning of two additional months of at-home rest and recovery. And while he has yet to make a public statement since his return to the Apostolic Palace, the Catholic Church's leader expressed gratitude for the world's concern amid his now-improving health earlier this month. 'I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my health from the Square,' he said in a voice note shared by the Vatican March 6. 'I accompany you from here. May God bless you and the Virgin protect you. Thank you.' Tracy Morgan Wheeled Off Court After Throwing Up at Basketball Game

Originally appeared on E! Online Tracy Morgan suffered a health emergency at a recent basketball game. The 30 Rock alum was wheeled out of Madison Square Garden during the New York Knicks' game against the Miami Heat on March 17. The NBA match was reportedly halted after Morgan, 56, threw up on the court and appeared to be bleeding from his nose, according to Sports Illustrated. In footage shared on social media, Morgan was seen blotting his face with what appeared to be a towel while being ushered off the court in a wheelchair. E! News has reached out for his rep for comment but hasn't heard back. It's not the only health scare the comedian has suffered. Over a decade ago, the Saturday Night Live alum was severely injured in a car accident, which nearly took his life. "I'm just thanking the Lord that I'm a part of this," Morgan told Matt Rogers at SNL 50 last month, "that I survived that accident and I'm alive to be here for this." More from E! "I broke every bone in my face, my ribs. I pulverized my femur," he said in his Netflix special Staying Alive. "I'm from the ghetto and after I came out the coma, I was blind for a week and where I come from, you don't want to be blind for a second. All kinds of s--t started coming up missing in my hospital room." But Morgan—who shares daughter Maven, 11, with Megan Wollover as well as adult sons Gitrid, Malcolm and Tracy Jr. with ex Sabina Morgan—turned his pain into purpose by sharing his experience in the special. 'This was a bad thing that happened to me," he told People in 2017. "I wanted to tell my story, but I also want to continue my standup career because all the great things that ever happened to me in my life came through standup.' Prior to his accident, Morgan also received a kidney transplant in 2010 from ex Tanisha Hall, telling E! News the following year, "I'd like to thank Tanisha for donating my kidney to me." Teddi Mellencamp Details Throwing Up 85 Times Amid Hospitalization

Originally appeared on E! Online is holding nothing back. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum detailed her weekslong hospitalization for multiple brain tumors, revealing what really happened after she underwent emergency surgery in February. "I was wretched in the hospital," she began on the March 13 episode of her and Tamra Judge's Two Ts In A Pod podcast. "It was a bad 17 days for everyone in my life." In addition to experiencing "patchy" spots in her memory, Teddi said she was "put on all these medications" with intense side effects. "I was on a sodium drip," she explained. "They made me take these disgusting sodium pills that I threw up every day." The 43-year-old continued, "One day, I remember I had just thrown up, like, 85 times from the stupid salt pills." But that wasn't all. Teddi said she also spent some time with her hands restrained because she "kept wanting to touch" the scars on the back of her head from the surgery. More from E! "I would try to rip my hands out of them." Eventually, Teddi was discharged to a hotel with a full-time nurse. There, she learned that doctors discovered more tumors in her head and lungs despite having already removed four from her brain. 'Once I understood," she recalled, "I got really sad." Teddi is now undergoing immunotherapy and radiation to treat the remaining tumors, which she said makes her feel "absolutely terrible." "I have the worst headache," she tearfully revealed. "I feel back to how I felt at the beginning." Still, Teddi—who is the daughter of John Mellencamp and Victoria Granucci—is keeping her head up. As she put it, a nurse recently explained to her that "the fact that you're in pain right now is huge, because it means it's attacking the cancer." She added of her recovery journey, "I'm feeling really positive." For more celebrities speaking out about their health, keep reading...
