GB Nagar industries helping GDP? Survey will find out

Noida: Invest UP, in collaboration with a private agency, is surveying industrial units across GB Nagar to assess their contribution to the state govt's goal of becoming a one trillion dollar economy. The survey includes industries in Noida, Greater Noida and YEIDA areas. CM Yogi Adityanath had previously directed for the survey to be conducted. It will build an updated and verified database of operational and non-operational industrial units while also identifying vacant or underutilised industrial land. Officials said findings will offer real-time insights into the region's industrial footprint and help guide future planning, land utilisation, and policy decisions. In a letter dated July 28, Noida informed all industrial units and associations about the survey and directed them to extend full cooperation. Noida Authority has emphasised the importance of cooperation from unit owners and industrial associations. "This process is being carried out as per the directions of the chief minister. Your cooperation is extremely important," the letter stated. Similar letters have been issued by GNIDA and YEIDA to their respective industrial clusters. It aims to establish the current status of industrial operations and to map underutilised or vacant plots. The final output will be a digital database to guide industrial planning, land allocation, and policy formulation. This exercise is part of the state-wide initiative to cover over 42,000 industrial units across all seven industrial development authorities in Uttar Pradesh, including UPSIDA, GIDA, UPEIDA, and SIDA. Noida alone has around 11,000 industrial units, of which around 9,500 are currently operational. The survey is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Once compiled, the data will be shared with the respective development authorities and the state govt.
