What to wear to Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter UK shows — all the inspo you need
Ms Beyoncé Knowles-Carter will be touching down in London from 5th June and honestly, we couldn't be more ready. With six nights at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the whole of the UK is going to need to get rodeo ready — even if they didn't manage to snag a ticket.
With such a clear tour theme, as well as striking album visuals, comes the opportunity to really dress up. Think Western, Americana, Ranch-core — it's time to live that fantasy, baby! Below, we've rounded up some major look inspo to add to your moodboard, whatever your style and budget.
"Denim on denim, on denim, on denim / Give you high fashion in a simple white tee" sings Beyoncé on her track Levii's Jeans. With quite literal instructions (and examples, thanks to her campaign with Levi's from last year) this is a Cowboy Carter outfit everyone can try. You can even buy the denim cowboy hat worn by Bey, which gives mega Britney and Justin vibes for all my Milliennials. Pop references on top of pop references!
Jackets, shirts, shorts — anything and everything can have fringing applied to it. It adds a little drama to a look, which can be exemplified with some interspersed beads and sequins. More is more in our book. Originally added to cowboy's garments to help shed water, make them dry faster and act as extra material to be cut off and used as strapping or repairs, fringing is multi-functional as well as fashionable. Who knew?
Last April, Bey wore a vintage Versace full leather ensemble to accept her Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards — completely embodying the spirit of the Cowboy Carter album. Accentuated by all over gold rivets, studs and rhinestones, the outfit was the perfect balance of tough glamour. We bow down. For the concert, opt for a jacket you can take off so you don't overheat, and shorter hemlines to make sure you can move. Practicality is key!
Cowboy boots are never out of style — they're perfect for every day, festivals, and of course, a cowboy themed arena tour. If you haven't yet invested in a pair, now might just be the perfect time. Not a boots kind of gal? Opt for a mule version instead; easy to slip on, and the perfect companion to a pair of jeans.
It's an obvious one to include but…here we are. Not all cowboy hats are created equal — pink and fluffy will make you look like you're on a hen-do. A more classic style like Bey's will hopefully mean it lives beyond the concert date (the less single wear fashion the better). Or channel a more Americana vibe with a trucker cap instead.
Last but certainly not least, if there ever was a place to heavily accessorise, this is it. Belts, jewellery, bandanas and Cowboy Carter sashes should be worn in abundance. This is Queen B we are talking about, after all — don't do anything by halves!
