(AP Photo/Chris Szagola) PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Pinch-hitter Jake Bauers' go-ahead, two-run double in the seventh inning helped the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep and extend their winning streak to seven. Bauers batted for Eric Haase in Christian Yelich's spot in the lineup after Yelich left with a bruised right hand after being hit by a pitch in the first inning. Advertisement With the game tied at 2 after Phillies shortstop Trea Turner's fielding error allowed a run to score, Bauers doubled down the left-field line off Orion Kerkering (4-2) to put the Brewers ahead. It was Milwaukee's first series sweep in Philadelphia since 2015. Jackson Chourio had two hits an an RBI for his third straight multihit game against the Phillies. Jose Quintana pitched five innings in his return from the injured list with left shoulder impingement. He allowed two runs and four hits with four walks and struck out three. Nick Mears (1-0) pitched a scoreless sixth to earn the win. Jared Koenig and Abner Uribe each threw scoreless innings before Trevor Megill pitched the ninth for his 11th save in 12 opportunities. Advertisement Phillies starter Ranger Suarez exited after giving up Caleb Durbin's double to lead off the seventh. He allowed two runs — one earned — in six innings. J.T. Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber hit RBI singles in the first two innings for the Phillies, who have lost four straight. Key moment Defensive miscues fueled the Brewers' three-run seventh. Weston Wilson misplayed Durbin's liner to left field into a double. With two on and two outs, Kerkering induced a ground ball to shortstop from William Contreras. But Turner committed an error to allow Durbin to score, tying the game at 2 and extending the inning for Bauers. Advertisement Key stat This marks the Brewers' second straight three-game sweep. They won three in a row at home against the Boston Red Sox before heading to Philadelphia. Before this winning streak, the Brewers hadn't swept a series of at least three games all season. Up next Milwaukee travels to Cincinnati to begin a three-game series with Aaron Civale (0-1, 6.00 ERA) scheduled to start Monday night. The Phillies are off Monday before traveling to Toronto for a three-game series. Zack Wheeler (6-2, 2.96 ERA) will start Tuesday's opener. — AP MLB:

Christian Yelich exits Brewers' game against the Phillies with a hand injury

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers designated hitter Christian Yelich left Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after being hit by a pitch in the first inning. Yelich suffered a right hand contusion, the Brewers announced. He was hit by a 90 mph sinker from Ranger Suarez. He remained in the game but was lifted for pinch hitter Eric Haase in the third. Yelich is batting .233 this season with a team-leading 12 home runs and 39 RBIs. He had four hits in Saturday's 17-7 win over the Phillies and homered twice Friday night. Yelich missed 81 games last season because of a lower back injury. ___ AP MLB:

Phillies blank Braves behind Ranger Suarez's 8-strikeout gem

May 28 - Ranger Suarez struck out eight over six solid innings as the Philadelphia Phillies notched a 2-0 victory Tuesday in the opener of their three-game series against the visiting Atlanta Braves. Suarez (4-0) scattered four hits and three walks for the Phillies, who watched Bryce Harper exit after getting hit by a pitch on his right elbow in the first inning. X-rays came back negative on Harper, who was diagnosed with an elbow contusion. Jordan Romano worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his seventh save, wrapping up Philadelphia's 10th win in 11 games. Atlanta's Spencer Strider (0-3) allowed one run on one hit and four walks in 4 2/3 innings in his third start of the season. He struck out seven, but threw only 50 of his 90 pitches for strikes as the Braves lost for the fifth time in six games. Philadelphia plated the game's first run in the second inning. Alec Bohm walked to open the frame against Strider, who then struck out Nick Castellanos for the first out. Max Kepler followed with a drive into the right-center field gap, plating Bohm. That proved to be enough for Suarez, who worked around a baserunner in each of the first four innings. Atlanta put together a stiffer rally in the fifth, as Michael Harris II led off with a single and Ronald Acuna Jr. walked with one out. Marcell Ozuna walked to load the bases with two outs before Suarez retired Matt Olson on strikes to escape the jam. Philadelphia created some chaos of its own in the bottom half of the frame, putting two runners on with two outs against Strider. The righty was then pulled in favor of Enyel De Los Santos, who retired Edmundo Sosa on an inning-ending grounder. Suarez yielded a leadoff single to Ozzie Albies in the sixth but got the next three hitters to put an exclamation point on his night. Orion Kerkering worked around a one-out hit in the seventh and Matt Strahm got through the eighth with the help of a sliding catch by Kepler in left field. The hosts made it 2-0 in the eighth when Daysbel Hernandez allowed four consecutive baserunners with two outs, including J.T. Realmuto's walk with the bases loaded. --Field Level Media
