Cape Breton musicians come together for hall of fame induction ceremony

(Ryan MacDonald/CTV Atlantic) Dozens of musicians will take to the stage at Centre 200 in Sydney, N.S., to honour the newest inductees into the Cape Breton Music Industry Hall of Fame. The show, which kicks off at 7 p.m. on Thursday, will feature more than 50 Cape Breton performers. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Cape Breton Music Industry Cooperative. The inductees to the hall of fame are Bruce Guthro, the Rankin Family and Donnie Campbell. The hall of fame, which is turning three years old this year, has previously inducted Rita MacNeil, Matt Minglewood, the Men of the Deeps, John Allan Cameron, Winston Scotty Fitzgerald and Joella Foulds. Barrie Thunder Classics begin summer season

Over 200 cars shined at Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery on Sunday as the Barrie Thunder Classics took over the parking lot. Families were able to spend fathers' day doing what Dad loves including checking out classic cars. Hundreds of people gathered in the parking lot showing off classic cars from the 1930's to modern super cars. Something for the entire family to enjoy. The Rankin family spent the morning viewing the vehicles and said its nice to spend time together. 'It's great opportunity to see personally what we might buy one day,' said the father. 'They're beautiful. Makes me realize, my garage is dirty, and I want to put a car in it.' 'We all work, so it's hard to spend a lot of time with him, it's great to actually get a day off, to spend a lot of time with him and appreciate the stuff we get to look at and enjoy it.' Brian Jones owned a classic truck and said he enjoys getting out and showing off his prized possession. 'When I retired, I needed a project, so it took me three winters working on it everyday building it,' said Jones. 'And I had it on the road since I think it was 2010.' 'You see the young kids come up and they look at it and some of them turn around and say Dad, how come we haven't got fun like that?' said Jones. 'It's great to see the kids because they are the next generation, they're the ones that if that are going to be doing cars when we're long gone.'
