St Teresa's Senior Primary play gives classic fairytales a hilarious South African twist
St Teresa's Senior Primary was filled with laughter and applause on August 7 as Rosies from grades 4 to 7 took audiences on a whimsical journey through The Sisters Grimm, a school production that reimagined traditional fairytales with proudly South African flavour.

The show unfolded in five acts, each giving a much-loved story an unexpected, local, and comical twist. Rapunzel: The Weave of Destiny saw a vibrant hairstylist hunting for the ultimate head of hair, rather than a prince scaling a tower. Snow White swapped her gown for a taxi driver's seat in Snow White and the Seven Taxi Drivers, navigating the lively streets instead of the forest.
The surprises kept coming in Red Riding Hood: Detective in the Hood, where the wolf was vegan and granny was locked in the pantry. The grand finale, Cinderella in Crocs: A Sokkie Fairytale, had Cinderella losing her comfy Crocs at a sokkie, instead of a royal ball, and being serenaded by legendary Prince with the song: Purple Rain.
The audience laughed, clapped, and even sang along, as Rosies brought fresh, local life, into timeless tales.
