Intensive Five-Month Programme Over the course of five months, the trainees underwent rigorous practical and theoretical training covering the fundamentals of horse racing. The sessions were delivered by a team of expert coaches and lecturers, aiming to prepare participants for the demands of professional racing. UK Bound: Next Phase of Development Standout performers from the programme will be nominated for an elite summer training programme at the British Racing School in the United Kingdom next year. The selection process will be overseen by a dedicated committee from the Jockey Support Fund, based on performance criteria. Growing Success of the Academy Officials say the Bahrain Academy of Riders has seen increasing interest, with graduates already achieving strong results in the local racing circuit. Many have secured podium finishes throughout the 2024–2025 season—highlighting the academy's growing impact.

The Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC) is preparing for an unforgettable celebration of Eid Al Fitr, with two days of exhilarating horse racing set to unfold today (April 3) and tomorrow (April 4). As part of Bahrain's nationwide Eid festivities, the event promises a perfect blend of world-class competition and cultural celebrations, offering something for everyone. A Festive Weekend of Racing and Joy Building on the excitement of the Ramadan night races, the club is continuing its tradition of combining thrilling sport with national celebration. This year's Eid Al Fitr Festival is set to create an electrifying atmosphere, drawing racing fans, families, and holiday-goers alike for a weekend brimming with festive spirit. As the horses race to the finish line, the crowd will be treated to vibrant celebrations, all set against the backdrop of Bahrain's Eid festivities. High Stakes and Fierce Competition Over two days, 17 races will unfold, featuring some of the finest horse racing talent from across the region. The festival will see a host of prestigious cups up for grabs, including the Late Shaikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Cup, Majid Rashid Al Zayani Cup, Abdulla Ahmed Nass Cup, Applied Science University Cup, Sarens Nass Cup, and the Royal Golf Club Cup. Each race promises to bring intense competition, with top-tier stables from Bahrain and beyond vying for victory. Key Races to Watch The action kicks off tomorrow at 5:30 PM with the Majid Rashid Al Zayani Cup, a 2,000-meter race for imported horses with a prize pool of BD4,000. This highly anticipated event will feature six top contenders, representing leading stables like Victorious, Al Khaldiya, Al Mohamediya Racing, Al Afoo Racing, and Al Mallah Racing. Alongside this, the Late Shaikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Cup for imported horses and the REHC Cup for local breeds will also take center stage, with each offering BD3,000 in prize money. These races are sure to highlight some of the best equine talent in the region. On Friday, the festival continues with a full slate of eight races, including the feature race— the Late Mr Abdulla Ahmed Nass Cup. This 1,400-meter challenge for imported horses boasts an impressive BD10,000 in prize money and a strong field of 10 runners. Leading stables such as Victorious, Al Mohamediya, Al Afoo, and Al Adiyat Racing will compete for the coveted prize. Additionally, the Sarens Nass Cup and the Royal Golf Club Cup, both for imported horses, will offer BD4,000 in winnings, while the Applied Science University Cup rounds out the day's events with a BD3,000 prize for the imported horses taking part. Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received a cable of congratulations from Their Highnesses the brothers of His Majesty the King. The congratulatory message was sent by Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Commander of the National Guard, His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, and His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Royal Court Affairs, on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. According to Bahrain News Agency, the message from the royal brothers expressed their best wishes and congratulations to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the festive occasion. The message reflects the close familial and official bonds within the Bahraini royal family and marks a significant gesture of unity and respect among the leadership.
