Defending champions Tinahely held with Healy to the rescue for Rathnew
Bray People Today at 17:30 A POINT from substitute Sam Healy in the fifth minute of added time rescued a valuable point for Rathnew in an exciting finish to this Boom & Platform Hire Senior Football Championship contest played at Echelon Park, Aughrim, on Friday evening last. Defending champions Tinahely looked to have put themselves into a winning position when Eoin D'Arcy pointed a free three minutes into a five-minute added time period but in a last fling of the dice Adam Byrne placed Sam Healy to shoot the equaliser.

St. Patrick's rule roost against near neighbours Rathnew in LGFA Division 3 final
St. Patrick's and Rathnew served up a well-contested and exciting LGFA Division 3 league final at Dunbur Road, Wicklow on Saturday evening. The sizable gathering of supporters for both sides showed that there is nothing like a local derby to whet the appetite. And there is no keener derby than the meeting of St. Pat's and Rathnew—in everything.

Rathnew manager tips wide-open race for Wicklow County Championship
Wicklow People Today at 02:30 With 34 Senior Championship titles to their name, Rathnew are Wicklow's most-successful club as far as winning the Miley Cup, the county's most-prestigious competition, is concerned. So, even if they might currently be lacking in Wicklow county panellists, it's fair to say Championship was, is, and always will be their priority. It's the same for every club, so League football is often a patchy indicator of what's to come, and that might explain why the Rathnew players were quite reserved in their post-match celebrations after winning the Dunne Cup and Division One of the Wicklow County League in Ashford last Saturday night. This, despite having come through a genuine, hard-fought decider with Greystones' Éire Óg.

Wicklow Division Four semi-final line-up confirmed
Wicklow People Today at 07:30 A superlative 2-4 from Mark Murphy has helped Stratford/Grangecon into the Division Four semi-finals in the Wicklow County League. The home side had 11 points to spare over their opponents, Rathnew, on Thursday's quarter-final night, despite the spread of scorers being limited to just three players. Ross Coogan finished with 0-5 and Nick O'Neill also finished to the net to secure a 3-9 to 1-4 win in Stratford.

Rathnew happy to reach League final, but Championship remains the focus
Wicklow People Speaking on behalf of the Rathnew management team, Mark Coffey cut an understandably pleased figure after his side booked their place in a Division One final; but he was understated as well, and it's clear he and his fellow management-team members are more focused on the action that will follow this League campaign. Rathnew topped the table on 15 points, three clear of anyone else and more than enough to book a spot in the final against Éire Óg. Their opponents on Friday night, Baltinglass, will certainly have more man-power available to them in the County Championship, and it's hard to imagine last year's runners-up losing by a dozen points to anyone when the more-serious stuff gets underway. Coffey was keen to emphasis that.
