Ten years after a disproportionate assets cases was filed against a superintendent/appraiser in the office of the Development Commissioner in the Adani Port Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) in Mundra, Kutch, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court has awarded him a five-year imprisonment. In a statement on Monday, the agency said, 'The Special CBI Court No. 8 at Ahmedabad, had sentenced Pankaj J Raval, the then Superintendent/Appraiser, in the office of the Development Commissioner, APSEZ, Mundra to 5 Years' Rigorous imprisonment (RI) with a fine of Rs 80 lakh in case of disproportionate assets.' The probing agency said it had registered an instant case against Raval and his wife on April 20, 2015, based on allegations that while working as a public servant, he had 'amassed disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 45,37,178 to his known source of income'. During investigation, the CBI said, it had established that Raval had purchased a huge amount of jewellery and accumulated other assets during the check period from January 1, 2009, to February 26, 2015. The investigation also established that Raval and his wife acquired disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 45,37,178 during the check period that was 153% disproportionate to their known sources of income. Accordingly, the CBI had filed a chargesheet on November 26, 2015 against the couple. However, Raval's wife died during the decade-long trial and hence, 'charges against her were abated by the court', the agency said. During the trial, the CBI examined 35 prosecution witnesses and relied upon 101 documents and exhibits in support of the charges against the accused. The court, it said, found merit in the charges against the accused and accordingly convicted and sentenced him

Thieves Allegedly Used Pythons to Rob Gas Station
Tennessee police are searching for several suspects who allegedly robbed a convenience store using pythons. Last week, Madison County police released CCTV footage of the suspects and their vehicle on Instagram. The unbelievable photos and video show the suspects, sans facial coverings, recklessly wielding the pythons and using them to threaten the cashier. Police are searching for two males and two females who allegedly entered a local Citgo station on March 4 and used the pythons to steal CBD oil 'valued at $400.' Mayur Raval, the cashier glimpsed in the security footage, told local outlet WREG that he was working with his brother when the alleged thieves entered the store. As it so happens, Raval has a paralyzing fear of snakes. (It's not clear if the suspects were aware of this.) 'They were just waving them around and putting them on the counter. One person brought in one snake first, and then after that, he brought in another snake,' Raval said of the peculiar scene. 'One [snake] is white, and one is brown or a mix.'In the ensuing terror and confusion, Raval claims the snake handlers were able to steal the CBD off the counter in front of him. He believes they would have taken more if not for the high number of customers in the store at the time. 'They pulled their car up to the front of the door,' Raval recalled. 'I think they planned to successfully come here and rob the store. The snake is a weapon, you know.' Several days after the Citgo station incident, 26-year-old Reginald Cook was arrested and charged with two accounts of attempted aggravated robbery after he entered a nearby Shell station with a five-foot snake wrapped around his neck and demanded money from the cashier. Police believe Cook was involved in both incidents, but they are still searching for the other three suspects.

Thieves Allegedly Robbed a Tennessee Convenience Store Using Pythons: 'They Were Just Waving Them Around'
Tennessee police are currently looking for four people who allegedly robbed a convenience store while wielding pythons. Authorities in Madison County shared images from store surveillance footage of the incident on their CrimeStoppers Instagram account in an effort to gain further information about the suspects. They said that two females and two males entered a Citgo in the area on March 4 and stole CBD oil 'valued at $400.' Police added that the thieves left in a four-door sedan with a trunk tied with bungee cords. PEOPLE reached out to the Madison County Sheriff's Office for comment on Sunday, March 16, but did not receive an immediate response. Citigo employee Mayur Raval told local outlet WREG-TV News that he and his brother were working in the store at the time of the robbery. He recalled of the suspects, 'They were just waving [the pythons] around and putting them on the counter." He then described one of the pythons as white and another as either brown 'or a mix.' Raval also told WREG-TV News that he believes the thieves would have stolen more if there weren't so many people around at the time. 'They pulled their car up to the front of the door,' he continued. 'I think they planned to successfully come here and rob the store. The snake is a weapon, you know.' Pythons are non-venomous snakes that can range from 22 inches to 33 feet in length and can weigh up to 250 lbs. They kill their prey through suffocation, wrapping their bodies around their intended target and squeezing, per the San Diego Zoo. Police are urging anyone who may recognize any of the suspects to call Crime Stoppers at 731-424-8477. Read the original article on People
