Charges laid in kidnapping and killing of Abbotsford teen
Five people have been charged in connection with the kidnapping and homicide of an Abbotsford teenager in January. On Jan. 27, shortly before 2 a.m., police responded to a suspicious occurrence in the 2900-block of Victoria Street in Abbotsford. Witnesses reported seeing a man being assaulted before being taken away in a vehicle, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. About three hours later, the 19-year-old was located in the Crescent Beach area of Surrey with severe injuries. On Feb. 1, he died at the hospital and IHIT took over the case. The teen has not been identified by police. IHIT believes this was a targeted hit but not related to the ongoing gang conflict in the province. On Friday, five men were charged with criminal offences, four with first-degree murder and forcible confinement and one with forcible confinement. Charged with first-degree murder and forcible confinement are Ravdeep Gill, 21, a resident of Winnipeg, Harmandeep Gill, 26, a resident of Brampton, Ont., Jaskaran Singh, 20, of Surrey, and Bipanpreet Singh, 22, also living in Surrey. Men charged in mysterious murder of young Abbotsford, B.C., man
Months after a 19-year-old man was murdered under mysterious circumstances in B.C.'s Lower Mainland, several suspects have been arrested and charged. Authorities have never publicly identified the deceased, but said he was found walking in the Crescent Beach area of Surrey with 'severe injuries' on the morning of Jan. 27. Hours earlier, witnesses reported seeing a man being assaulted in Abbotsford and hauled away in a vehicle. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the incident does not appear related to the B.C. gang conflict. 'The victim had his whole life ahead of him,' said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT, in a statement following the young man's death. 'Sadly, his family is now left in grief with many unanswered questions.' On Friday, authorities announced charges against five men. Counts of first-degree murder and forcible confinement have been approved against 21-year-old Ravdeep Gill of Winnipeg, 26-year-old Harmandeep Gill of Brampton, 20-year-old Jaskaran Singh of Surrey and 22-year-old Bipanpreet Singh, also of Surrey. Inderpreet Khosa, a 19-year-old from Abbotsford, has also been charged with forcible confinement.

4 men charged with 1st-degree murder in death of 19-year-old in Abbotsford, B.C.
Homicide investigators say four men have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 19-year-old man in Abbotsford, B.C., in January. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said 21-year-old Ravdeep Gill of Winnipeg, 26-year-old Harmandeep Gill of Brampton, Ont. have been charged with first-degree murder and forcible confinement, as have Surrey residents Jaskaran Singh, 20, and Bipanpreet Singh, 22. A fifth man, 19-year-old Inderpreet Khosa of Abbotsford, has been charged with forcible confinement. IHIT said just before 2 a.m. PT on Jan. 27, witnesses reported seeing a man being assaulted and taken away in a vehicle from the 2900 block of Abbotsford's Victoria Street. Three hours later, police say the 19-year-old victim was found in Surrey's Crescent Beach area with severe injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
