Men caught on CCTV planting bone in veg biryani to evade Rs 5,000 bill at UP restaurant: ‘they should be punished'
A bizarre attempt to dodge a restaurant bill recently unfolded in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, when a group of young men tried to falsely accuse a local eatery of serving meat in a vegetarian dish. The incident took place on the night of July 31 at Biryani Bay, located near Shastri Chowk in the Cantonment area. According to a report by Hindustan Times, a group of around eight to 10 men had dined at the restaurant, ordering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian biryanis. Not long after the food arrived, one of them loudly claimed to have found a meat bone in his vegetarian biryani. Sensing that something was off, the restaurant staff immediately called the police, who arrived and defused the situation. But what followed exposed the group's deceit. CCTV footage from inside the restaurant revealed that one of the men had passed a bone to another, who then quietly slipped it into the vegetarian biryani before staging the entire drama. Restaurant owner Ravikar Singh, confident in his kitchen's strict food separation practices, stood firm on his ground. 'There is no chance of contamination,' he said, adding that the group's intention was plain: 'They clearly wanted to avoid paying the bill, which was around Rs 5,000-6,000. Their actions were completely deliberate.' Though no formal complaint has been lodged yet, Yogendra Singh, Circle Officer, Cantonment, confirmed that the police are handling the matter and that 'legal action is underway.' A post shared by Brut India (@ The video has been uploaded on social media by multiple accounts and has gone viral with almost 1 lakh views. Netizens also reacted to the video in the comments. A user wrote, 'if it wasn't recorded, restaurant owner would be beaten up, govt would cancel their license…' Another user added, 'We live in a world where CCTVs are a must and no person can be trusted no matter what.' A third person commented, 'In order to put other person down some people really go so low in their lives.' A fourth individual wrote, 'This is so getting out of hand. They themselves make fun of their religion, do pathetic. If you can't afford to pay the bill please don't eat out. They should be punished for this.'

Youths caught faking bone in veg ‘biryani' to skip bill
Gorakhpur: In a bizarre attempt to dodge their restaurant bill, a group of youths in Gorakhpur staged a scene by placing a bone in a plate of veg biryani and alleging it was served by the restaurant. However, their act quickly unravelled when CCTV footage revealed the shocking truth. The incident took place on the night of July 31 at the 'Biryani Bae', a restaurant located at Shastri Chowk in the Cantonment police station area. A group of eight to 10 young men visited the restaurant and placed orders for both veg and non-veg biryani. Shortly after their meal was served, one of them began creating a ruckus, claiming that a bone was found in his veg biryani — a serious allegation, especially during the holy month of Shravan. After getting the information, the police managed to control the situation and a restaurant staff showed the CCTV footage in the restaurant to the police which clearly showed one of the youths handing a bone to another, who then discreetly placed it into the veg biryani plate to fake the claim, restaurant owner Ravikar Singh said. Singh added both veg and non-veg dishes are prepared separately in his kitchen and there was no possibility of cross-contamination. "They clearly wanted to avoid paying the bill, which was around Rs 5,000–Rs 6,000. Their actions were completely deliberate," he told the police. Circle Officer (CO) Cantonment, Yogendra Singh, confirmed the sequence of events, stating, "After receiving information, police reached the restaurant on July 31 and ensured law and order was maintained." However, no formal complaint has been lodged from either side so far.
