On Wednesday's episode of the Raw Room podcast, special teams assistant Daren Bates was asked about the Panthers' progress through this point of the offseason. The second-year coach offered up his thoughts on some of the organization's transactions as well as what the team is up to in their early workout sessions. When talking about building the roster with their new additions, however, Bates may have nearly offered up a tad too much. Take a listen . . . Hmmm . . . What could that unknown information possibly be? The theory most Panthers fans may rush to might involve three-time All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who is seemingly on the outs with the Miami Dolphins. Ramsey appears likely to be traded in the coming weeks, and raised some eyebrows with his recent praise of Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. Or perhaps Bates was thinking about another kind of defensive back. The Panthers should still be in the market for a starting safety, and have already met with free agents Julian Blackmon and Marcus Williams earlier this spring. Or, maybe it's not even a big move at all. Only Bates, and obviously a select few, would know. But whatever that information is, we may be very close to finding it out. Panthers coach reacts to WR Tetairoa McMillan saying he doesn't like to watch film Will wideout Tetairoa McMillan's lack of interest in watching football be a problem for teams in the . . . *checks notes* . . . National Football League? Well, it seems a bit off to at least one coach for the Carolina Panthers. Last April, McMillan—one of the very top receiving prospects of the 2025 NFL draft—was the subject of a short YouTube documentary from the account "stuinthestu." The video includes a rather interesting statement from the University of Arizona standout, who claimed that he does not like to watch film. Take a listen: The clip, with McMillan's move into the pros coming up, has recently resurfaced and made its rounds through social media. It also found Panthers special teams assistant Daren Bates, who gave his thoughts on McMillan's habits (or lack thereof) on a new episode of his podcast Raw Room . . . (Warning: Explicit language) McMillan may be in play for Carolina's first-round selection, the draft's eighth overall pick.
